Lets see your 2020 Outdoor Plants!

Let's just say I wasn't planning on growing trees when I chose a 3 gallon pot. The staking struggle is real and daily. Multiple falls and a few broken branches at this point.

Lets see your 2020 Outdoor Plants!

These girls are close to 6 ft now in 3 gallon pots with coco. Hand watered.. ie a near full time job keeping them fed. The reflection in the pool is my other larger plant, that one in 25 gallon soil.

Root Aphids - anyone just ignore them?

Update on my battle against RAs on not just 1 but 4 large outdoor plants. For the plant referenced earlier in this thread, I applied Imidacloprid as mentioned. I only ended up needing that single treatment at 5ml per gallon. RAs were gone in 3 days and I have not seen them since on this plant...

Root Aphids - anyone just ignore them?

The big unknown after my research is the effect of systemic Imid on the final product. There is no shortage of strong opinions and anecdotal info, but I've not seen much science here. So I'd rather play it safe. It would be interesting to know if and how much Imid is actually present in the bud...

Root Aphids - anyone just ignore them?

Well my anxiety got the best of me. While waiting on the BotaniGard to arrive, I begrudgingly went at her with some BioAdvanced Complete Insect Killer (concentrate) for knockdown - soil drench and follow up spray of the root area. .72% Imidacloprid .36% beta-cyfluthrin I added 5ml per gallon...

    Plants outgrowing screenhouse

Thanks, the back row has long since outgrown the screenhouse and are now moved out and exposed to the elements (currently dealing with root aphids 😢). I'd say this size screenhouse is pefect for a few outdoor autos. But a pretty big fail on my part trying to contain photos.. they gave zero F's...

Root Aphids - anyone just ignore them?

Thanks! Those were not actually the roots. That was a close-up of the tan fabric of the pot. I edited my original post to mention that. At this point, I'll just try to stay on top of things. I will monitor the plant closely, and perhaps use the Botanigard 22WP if things go south.

Root Aphids - anyone just ignore them?

I think so, but here are some pics. Appears to be a 'red-assed' root aphid and a flier. Also the plant, which is doing well (the white powder is some food-grade DE I just applied). I just woke up the other day and found these things crawling all over the outside of the pot. It's interesting...

    EMERGENCY!!!! MAIN COLA..URGENT!!!

I agree with adding more support to the break, at least initially. I've had two branches break off nearly completely from wind.. these were not main colas, but still 4 foot branches. I used some duct tape and dedicated staking and they both formed big knuckles at the break point and are doing well.

Root Aphids - anyone just ignore them?

I have some outdoor plants that appear to be thriving, but I have recently found root aphids crawling all over the outside of my pots. The plants are just starting to flower so I'm guessing another 2-3 months before harvest. I ordered some Botanigard 22WP, but am also curious if anyone simply...

No new nodes or growth from center

Last update: After 2 months of my cosset parenting, this plant revealed that it was a male. It's a depressing affair chopping down a vigorous healthy cannabis plant, but his memory now lives on (literally) through my compost bin.

    Plants outgrowing screenhouse

I built this screenhouse to protect against caterpillars which are a problem here in SoCal, especially during flower where they basically eat your buds from the inside and cause rot. They decimated my last crop. Anyway I have 5 plants veggin in the screenhouse, 2 in soil and 3 in coco (the 3...

No new nodes or growth from center

Update - still growing with two mains. I did some LST to tie the mains down and open up the middle. Now waiting on preflowers to say if it's boy or girl.

No new nodes or growth from center

Update - still no new growth from the center, but the bottom node has now grown past it. It's like the plant has topped itself.

    Nutrilife Super Moist

In my quest to track down the discontinued SM 90, I came across a new product called Super Moist Wetting Agent. It appears to be a replacement for SM 90 but with higher concentration. Anyone try this yet?
