Yes you can use straight white, keeps things simple and works great.

Hi there, interested in building some led light bars, for a 4x8 table. 32 plants on the table. would like to use 32 led cob chips, one for each plant.

Im currently using 3 825 watt chinese panels (825 watt real draw verified with killawatt, 9x64x3w per panel) as you can see i use alot of light. DO you have some suggestions?> thanks

Hello, so that is about 20W/ ft² of dissipation and unless those were among the most efficienct LEDs in the world I would suggest that is not enough light to cover a 4X8 ideally. I would recommend 40-50W/ft² if using generic LEDs or as little as 30W ft² if using very high efficiency LEDs driven soft.

You could use Vero29 3K 80CRi, they are relatively cheap, high efficiency and built to last.

If you have a lot of vertical space you can run them as hard as you like as long as you use a reflector. But if you want to increase efficiency you can run the CXA3070 3K 80 CRi at 700-1050mA and you will not need as much vertical space but you will need more of them.

Hi there! I was impressed from your posts so i was hoping you could help me with some stuff.
I need some formula that could help me convert PAR mMols to lumens and if u can tell me some Chinese equivalent to the CREE CXA3070?
I'm in the middle of prototyping a product that uses LED to grow plants so i need low-price COBs for the RND process.
Thanks in advance :)

One warning though, their aluminum base may need a bit of sanding as they are not flat and you want to avoid the possibility of air bubbles in between the COB and heatsink.
