I was curious to if I bought rooting gel/ powder would I be able to save this little guy? I’ve never tried this before but wanted to make an effort to save a healthy branch.

2-1/2 weeks ago I broke off a branch and threw it in some water with late afternoon sun. It still looks like it did when it broke off. All I have done is add water. Usually I would cut 1” below first branch at a 45 degree angle and use a rooting gel and stick it in one off those cubes made for starting seeds or starts. Keep it wet until roots show and then into soil, usually a 16oz. Plastic drink cup with a hole I punched in the bottom.
