10,000k Metal Halide Bulb

Have any of you used 10,000k Metal Halide? If so, what were your thoughts.

why would it help trich production? A 10000k spectrum is heavy blue isn't it?

Never heard of a 22k bulb. Only.the 10k finishing bulb. If I remember, have room, and are not lazy at the time, ill.swapmoit my 3k flower bulb for my 4k veg bulb the last 2 weeks of flower.

the 22000k spectrum is super blue

I have used the 10k back in the old days.. Before Cmh. I did not notice any difference. Definitely wear eye protection if you go that route.

I saw those. I couldn't find them in 600w or 1000w. I only have one 400w out of 11 lights. i guess i could buy one and run it on 2 or 3 ladies.

If you decide to do that... I would suggest turning them on for 4 to 5 hours and day during the bloom to simulate the sun during peak summertime hours. I think you would get better results than running at the end of the cycle..

That is certainly something to consider. It makes sense

I wonder if running a 20000k with supplemental UVB would do anything during the last 2 to 3 weeks

hahahaha!!! Yes sir. I have a few ladies going into the last 3 weeks. I have UVB. I'll order a 20000k 400w ...run em both and report back. I'll have a control group to compare.

The idea with the 10k was that you would kind of sunburn your plant and in response it would make trichomes to protect itself,I don't know what a 22k would do?When I tried it I noticed a slight difference but really not worth the hassle and it shocks the plant a bit(which it's supposed to do),i ran the sunpulse 10k.

I know some more exp growers swap out their flower bulbs for veg bulbs last 2 weeks. Basically for the same result. Stress the plant into producing more trichs as a protective measure.

Some also just add uva and uvb only last 2 weeks and for a short period of time daily. Too much and you'll fry your plants.

By the looks at my current grow, depending on how much more they stretch (or don't stretch due to the 4k veg bulb still in there), I will try my hardest to swap out my 3k for my 4k veg. There is ONLY 1.2 more uva/uvb in the 4k bulb vs the 3k bulb at 24". I'll be about 1.5' max canopy to glass height.
