Morning growers, alright yall ...not to go down a huge rabbit hole: 5 months ago super busy let my seed game slip . Got all my variables super tight. Finally got some quality seeds from Humboldt ...13 seeds to start , 11 aggressive germed ...put them in jiffy pots (to rule out soil issues ) nice thick stem growth , Coty were green and healthy , probably 1/2 true leaves were nice green full size, others were slightly smaller still praying . At the 10 day mark now 11....theve all just stalled ...I tore a few jiffy pot bottoms off ...I see limited growth but root is white . Soil to touch seems good not to dry not drenched : it cant be my variables I presently have 3 thriving (out of 20 seeds last batch )

Batch 4 I've put straight into root riot last night in hopes that a nice juvenile root system will grow and then they will go into a new (4th) bag of soil just in case there's some fungus in soil but I doubt it because last batch thrived in same soil till true leaves came out . Here's my set

Mondi dome /50w agromax(bout 12/15 inches off , vessel(root riot ) / temp (75/80) water ph 6.2 well /soil pro mix microryze/

I've spritzed them 3 times in 10 days ....on the smaller ones the Coty and some of the true leaves yellowed out . Thanks all I think I've produced all info ...it's been a wild 5 months ...over 500 spent on seeds ....

Big fan of seedlings and their nuances.

Without enough wind leaning can happen.

Roots have water but leaves can't lose enough.

Not enough to just have light it wants the airflow of outdoors too.

Putting a dome on a seedling is really bad for this.

Simple fixes there not much else to it, soil, water, light and WIND.

Not too much not too little leave the rest to you to discover.

On a side note the serrated pinnate leaves should tell you these leaves want to transpire fast, give it what it wants.

Copy that KG...I've been a helicopter parent to these seedlings for months ....so no dome at all this is new info ...interested I just read a thread on the light breeze ....always thought light would burn off enough ...great info thank you my friend

Putting a dome on and causing high humidity is how you grow mushrooms essentially.

Were aiming for the opposite to make leaves work.

Oh brother, you need a forest spirit solution right now. It not only promotes the growth of grass, but also repels evil demons.😅

I have a light cocktail of great white and roots excelurator.... started giving my 1 month olds ...can I give to my seedlings without burning ?
Pretty sure promix will have all the beneficial stuff of both those products in it already. Not a promix person have used other companies versions but assume there's already enough living in that soil or peat and will just need feeding not more.

Not really an additive guy either, roots excelurator and mycos did nothing for me hard to justify the cost or effort. Most soil probably contain a billion bacteria per gram and a hefty dose of fungi plus soil organisms, just grow healthy plants and the soil will provide (for free) all the beneficial stuff you'll ever need.

That and no roots or mycos products ever made or broke a soil grow imo so again just pointless overall.

i see that DTE in the background, love organic, whats in the seedling medium? i just use plain peat, bit of rice hulls or perlite, i feed nothing thill theyve been above soil a week - week and a half at least, when i water i use a bit of aloe mixed in the first watering, then ill do super light doses of something liquid organic that wont burn like Alaska fish fertilizer, you can roll on just the AFF for a month till up pot where you can use amended soil, just my 2 cents lol.

Seedling go in root riot or straight in just pro mix microrye....they stay in the containers till they grow an alien white looking rootball ....then into 10 gal cloth pots with my homemade boom boom
Soil ...thank you sir for feedback ..

yep sounds right on to me, same method i use hmm... any chance its a bit cold where they are?

and like said above wind, not crazy strong but they should be bobbin a bit like there at a 80's hair band concert

A few sprouting attempts ago, I had had enough problems, so I put some money into it. I bought AC Infinity's $90 5x8 humidity dome and started using RQS soil plugs. My sprout success rate has been 100% since then.

The RQS soil plugs work well with the humidity dome tray. They're made from coir and peat. They can be pulled out of the tray to check the roots and then replaced, and they don't fall apart. I transplant when I see a tap root coming out the bottom. We keep the humidity dome in our living room because my wife likes to watch them sprout and grow--and the cats can't eat them.

Ambient temp 73 low 82high all the time ...dome is off light breeze on ....does this mean no dome as well for cloning ...

I like were you heads at ....did you comment before on the RQS...my cheap ass said they were a buck a piece ....actually worth it for what I've spent in mistakes ....I don't remember raising a seed being this meticulous .been cloning for a minute....rough year lots of mistakes due to life ...I almost quit my lady said cmon one last try...

It was challenging to get the mix right on the recipe but it's dialed and all my household plants love it ...I usually use the left over soil bout 3 turns with fresh pro mix mush compost n vermiculite ....will add the AFF.....also kiss organics granule is excellent

Just a suggestion to try on the side while you're trying other solutions, why don't you try putting a germinated seed in some regular store bought potting soil and give it nothing but water from the faucet with no adjusting nothing until you get to the third node? Sounds like you're stuck at the starting line and what you're doing hasn't been working... Commercial soils may not be the best blend for weed but they reliably grow all plants and take into account the pH of municipal water supply with preloaded buffers. Then at least you're growing some weed while you're figuring out all the other stuff.

I've mentioned RQS soil plugs before. I had a similar reaction to the price. They do go on sale occasionally, though. I was able to get a few 10-packs for half price, and that sweetened the deal enough for me to try them. I've tried other types of plugs and like these the most. Some of the others interfere with lateral root growth. The RQS ones don't, as far as I can tell.

I've tried other methods, like paper towels. I just reached a level of frustration at which I decided to take a different direction, even if it was wrong. Considering how much seeds can cost, an extra dollar or less per plant wasn't a big deal.

Didn't think so then ...I'm convinced now great call ...where do you store what's your water ph ...and do you follow suit for cloning with that ac infinity piece ...

And where are your meters? If under the light that's the wrong place. We don't want light to hit the meters were not trying to measure light but air.

As others have said, simple store bought soil, no pH, no domes, no humidity just water wind light.
