What's going on guys just upgraded to a solis tek 1000 watt adjustable ballast. It came with a 120 cord and 240 cord. What would be best for me to install for 1000 watts? Installing electric today. Anyone have the same ballast?

Well, 240 uses up less amperage than 120 does. Although, if you're only running a single light, I don't know if it would be worth the expense of running a 240 line. That stuff is pricey.

Do you plan on upgrading to more lights in the future? If so, then I would say go with 240. If you're just gonna only ever use the one light, but run a dedicateed 120v 15A breaker for the light and you should be just fine.

i do all the electrical myself, my question was if there was any difference in the performance if you connect a 240 over a 120. but i finally got the amperage and max watts. I could run a 240. but instead I'm gonna do a single 120 directly to the light. but I'm running 120V 20A with 12 gauge wire. do you run a solis-tek yourself?

240v runs cooler due to the fact that the current is split into two wires, where as a 110v is a single wire carrying the load. Also 240 uses slightly less elec, and 1/2 the amps.

Switching over to the Solis teks myself right now. Top notch ballasts

You prob wanna run it 240. A lot easier to add more ballasts later on. Less resistance as well

Solis Tek are among the best quality ballast out there. I am using Galaxy & Quantum 1000's but would have bought Solis, if I could have got them closer to the price of the other ones I bought.
