Hello all. I’m new to growing and I have a question. I have a king1000 grow light and also have a cheap 200 watt light that came with the grow tent. I am about to try hydro and will be growing in a 4x4 tent with 4 plants. Will the 1000 be enough or should I add the 200 watt one also ? Also with the 1000 should I be around 24” above canopy ? Thanks for any help

Your King is essentially 100 watts, not 1000. Your 4x4 tent is 16 sq feet. Optimally you want 35 watts per sq. ft. So in a 4x4 tent you want around 550 watts. For veg, you can probably get away with the 200 watts light, “But in flower, you need power!”

You can lower your light requirments if you do autos at an 18-6 schedule.
I ran 9 in a tent with a 400 watt panel. Easily average 48 DLI
for photos I run 700 in the 4x4.

Depends how much each light covers. But 300w would work as a minimum.and as a new grower I doubt you will fill the whole growbox full of flower soo it will work.

In a 3x3 300w would be amazing soo yours is close
If you got money spider will sell you 2x80 or 2x40watt bars you can put in corners
