I wonder if that may depend on other factors cuz I use gh flora trio plus calmag, I give them higher than recommended dose of each, every feeding and my plants seem to love it. Just my experience anyway

If only she could talk and tell me! I did the foliage spray of CalMag last night, I will see if that makes a difference. If not, I will add in some N and see if that has any results. I am hesitant to do a lot of things at once and I will never know where the problem is.

Looks nitrogen deficient and over or under watered.

I honestly have been wondering if the watering could be an issue. Well I didn’t have this problem until I watered last, so my bet would be over watered. Newbies are notorious for over watering. But I agree it is not only that, I feel there is another issue, and it could certainly be low on N like you said. I’m gonna see if the foliage spray helped, and go from there.

I don’t use it with every watering, but that’s what some are recommending, thinking it’s low on magnesium possibly. Many people say they use it every watering, I have been using it every other, and here I am with some sort of problem. Makes sense about the N tho, will have to remedy that problem. Thanks for the input.

You only add cal mag in coco as it’s inert. I’ve never added a cal mag supplement to soil in 20 years. I have heard some places in America have very low cal mag in the soil naturally so maybe they need to add it but I’ve never added it.
It’s going yellow because it’s sucking the stored N from the leaves because it doesn’t have enough in the soil.

Also, everything I see about N deficiency is it yellows from the bottom up. My bottom leaves look better than the top ones. Thoughts?

What's the pH of water and feed going in? If your ph is too high it might be zinc from lockout.

PH is 6.6/6.7. I’m going to start changing it up between lower and upper 6s going forward.

I’ve been keeping around 18”. SF recommend 12-18” in bloom. I thought 12 was too close.

I use tap water. I fill up a 5 gal bottle and let it sit to de chlorinate.

Well if your tap is anything like mine don’t go crazy with extra cal mag I dont need to let mine set for chlorine but it’s still 110ppm out the spout and I’ll guess that soil isn’t coco/perlite so be careful on your n ratio.

Hi Topnug, I just learned yesterday that you should test the Ph off the runoff. I had no idea. I will check it next watering. Going in is usually 6.6.

Here’s a quick way I use to calculate my ph of the soil. Add the ph going in to the ph coming out and divide by 2 this will give you a pretty close estimate of where you are in the soil itself. I have the blue labs soil pen and I used to do slurry tests with distilled water and a magnetic spinner but the numbers were all very similar consistently. Make sure you catch the very first run off for measuring your ph coming out. This should save you some time hope this helps
