1st grow inside need light advice

I tried several times to do it outside but my son finds it and ruins it every time so I am thinking of growing inside in the garage.

Max for now will probably be 2 plants just to see if I can do it.
Will king brite light be good enough for first time grow?

Do I need a tent if it's in the garage?

Kingbrite is good for long term and advanced growers too. I do suggest a tent for a few reasons. First is that it helps separate your garage from your grow area. This will help keep your grow space clean and free from pests, it will also solve any light pollution issues in or out. Also it gives you reflective walls that help utilize your lights full potential.

Depending on what your ideas are, I reccomend starting with a 2x4 using a 240w kingbrite quantum or equivalent. Or a 3x3 (usually taller) using 300w or around there.
