I am very new to this and have been reading and watching videos to get a decent understanding of what I am getting myself into. I bought some auto seeds to start out with since they have a shorter period and seems relatively easier to start with. Eventually as I get a few under my belt I will likely to switch to photos

Original plan is to use FFOF with the autos and put in a small area in the middle of just seed starting soil so it doesn't get burnt out right away then later in the grow feed with some nutes- seems to me that this might not work???

Other idea is to get promix w/ perlite and start feed nutes earlier. Biggest question... what nutes to go with? I was looking at the advance nutrients but if you look at their feeding schedule you need almost all of their products which will end up costing much more than I want to spend for a 1st grow. Is it possible to get away with a couple products just to get this party started?

From what I have been seeing it appears that the autos don't need as much? Once you get into photos seems like more nutes might be important? I am completely open to other companies as well if it means simplification. Do i want my buds to look and taste good? yes... do I want them perfect and enormous? no.

ANY help would be greatly appreciative, looks like there are some awesome people in this forum helping people get off to the right start. Thanks!

The nutes all work. Any balanced NPK line that includes micronutrients. You'll want calmag for non-feed waterings and a mag sulfur supplement for flower. GH Flora Trio is a modestly-priced way to get started. With autos, I'd suggest starting with half the recommended dosage on the bottle.

I'll tell you what I wish someone had told me before my first grow. Water by weight, only when the pots are very light. Feed every fourth watering, and if you're in an amended soil like Happy Frog, you don't need to feed for the first three weeks.

If auto definitely only do half. I used.gh before and you need half or little less even.

Yes you don't need all of them. Just the 3 part. Micro. Bloom. And grow. Also calmag. You'll be able to rock and roll with those autos. Easy stuff.

Advanced nutrients. General hydroponics. Foxfarm so many more. There are tons of nutrients. Whatever you choose.
Appreciate the help!
