Thanks. Moisture retention, soil temps, bug control, and to protect worms from the birds. Birds were coming to eat the worms and would shit on my plants in the process. We’re pretty much in the clear for frost, but it is still cold at night 40-48 degrees. When we did have frost, the plants didn’t blink an eye because of the mulch.
