For which category though?

I don't even know all the categories that are going to need judged

Wonder if we are going to have the members that didn't participate cast the votes.

Make threads of the different categories to be judged and add a poll to them with the participating members names so it's easier to vote and to count the votes.

Eeeh there are categories?
Didn't took a further look because i couldn't participate...still interested what y pull out of those one gallon. For me it's a regular pot size not for most growers here who prefer way more capacity.
I thought about mike's dry weight, looks like a massive one.

I'm shooting for Miss Congeniality.

In keeping with the theme of an ever-changing environment, I've decided that Ugly Betty will have to fare the wilds outdoors the rest of the way. Up until now, my clones have been getting shuffled in and out of the tent because of conflicting light schedules. They aren't recovering well from transplanting and I'm not willing to risk them just for this challenge. So going forward they will get preferential treatment and Ugly Betty is, once again, the red headed stepchild. And as always, step back and see what happens. This minimal intervention, come-what-may approach has been a real challenge. It reminds of a class I once took. We did experiments that would intentionally throw a wrench in the works, step back, observe and let things go sideways. Things I'd spent my entire career preventing. To not intervene was one of the hardest things to do....or not do...lol I've had that familiar uncomfortable feeling most of the way with this challenge and I'm about to turn it up a couple notches. Lol Haven't decided if I'm going to even bother with supplemental lighting and we never got out of the 30s yesterday so this will be interesting. Lol

And the award for the strongest phosphorus deficiency goes to..The Greenist!

Seriously though, learned a lot from this challenge. I feel like I'm not going to develop as a grower unless I try new methods and inputs.

I'll post my update tomorrow.
Beginning of last week was in the 50s, that turned to 20 real quick and now getting feet of snow daily so I've been dealing with that.
I actually like plowing and snow blowing but hate the snow lol.

It’ll be a long time before I see 60 degrees again here in New England, like April, maybe. 22 degrees here right now, woke up this morning and my TPMS light was on in the Tacoma, had to switch out the summer air for the winter air in the tires. I don’t mind the cold so much but the snow, especially the heavy wet stuff that turns to cement mix when you’re trying to plow, blow, or shovel it. That’s the stuff that’ll kill me if I’m not careful. Happens every winter around here. That and the tall white pine all over the place always looses branches and limbs with the heavy stuff, and the power goes out 2-5 days. I like snow during hunting season and Christmas time, after that I’m all set.
sorry had to vent

Make sure the cupboards got some Frosted Flakes and Corn Pops in them and im good! ill bring my own snowboards! hahaha! burton floater 162 and a burton X 154. taking all the kids for the first time this year! going to show them what the F is up with their ole dad throwing down hahaha! (i know better than that! im already to broken to go hard like the good ole days).

man I laughed so hard out loud when I saw your surfing emoji!! you’d have to drive like 6 hours to get to any ocean worth surfing! hahaha! my cousins moved to Oklahoma years ago and we met up afterwords. I asked them what they thought, they couldnt care less but laughed about how EVERYONE thinks we all surf here in cali! hahah! I dont believe them but still think it’s funny stereotyping all around!

we’ll get our little foothill winter hopefully at the least more around January and February couple years ago it snowed into march! that wasn’t cool! and like @MartyMcFly42oh was saying the pines dropping branches! had my little front yard garden fence smashed to shit. That wasn’t cool either, though I got to watch that one happen so that was kind of cool LOL! (Just a dude appreciating natural accruing carnage)

Jesus that was a friday night stoned ass ramble! seriously though guys stay safe in all the winter driving and cold ass weather!

I have a question, I'm new to growing. I just got the spider farmer g5000 480 Watt and I don't know anything. I have it at 22 in at 70% but it's only reading 310 ppfd on phototone. I just got an 8x4 tent and I thought all the reflection would help increase it. I'm sure you're aware I'm wrong. Do I just have to buy a more powerful light? Can I make it all the way through flower with this?

Hey bud I'm new to growing and I have a question. I just bought the spider farmer g5480 Watt and put it in a 8x4 tent. I'm at 70% 22 in. I used photone and it reads 310 ppfd. Am I doing something wrong? Can I make it through flour with this light? I'm probably going to have to buy a more powerful light huh?

500w is low for a 4x8 tent. You will likely need 2 for that space.

I don’t know how many plants you are running, but a 4x8 is fairly large, do you have it filled to capacity?

Can you put all your plants in 1 side with light over them until you can get another light.

The light you have is a quality, you are just asking more of it than it was designed for. Directly over the plants and it should have no problems staying at 600-1000+ ppd

Agreed!

In my 4x4 I can run 300w and be a solid cola, big heavy weight harvest, but 4x8’s are like a different game that middle space being wide open eats a lot of photons upon a 4x4 there’s a wall there to reflect the light back, in a 4x8 the light continues to travel away diaganially from the canopy so the light overlap in the center of the tent between lights is even more important to monitor than where the highest readings will be directly under the center of each light , one thing to consider when buying lights for like a 4x8 or larger tent is a large LED layout, you want the bars reaching the corners and into the center evenly so large bar style fixtures are very effective at even coverage due to that layout. I like 400w minimum per side (available to use if needed) 500w per side is my preference in the 4x8 past that I just start building too much heat, but I have 1500w availabe to use. In the winter I can push em harder and not worry about the heat

Here’s the 4x8 empty in the video hen half the tent finished I shut if off but now I’m running the kahuna 3 in there only on one side so I’m pushing 650w just to compensate for the absent wall on the left side to reflect back light you can see the left side of the plant is slightly darker than the right side where its being reflected back all around

Ooh. That’s smart.

That thought never even entered my mind. Hope you don’t mind, I’m stealing it and filing it away for later use.
