FIMMING requires more recovery time than topping, I think. At least it seems that way to me. Not familiar enough with how autos grow differently since I haven't grown one. I would imagine that if you FIMMED at the right time then you could see gains. Like maybe as soon as the main cola has 3-4 bud sites so those might potentially become colas.

Pretty much every day

Is fimming a high stress technique or more of a medium stress? I’m wondering if it would work better than topping with autos as it doesn’t seem as drastic for the plant?

Also you guys are allowed to be right sometimes with your wives!! Man, what’s that like you lucky bastards? 😂

Not a lot of experience with Autos but for photoperiods and indoors, I prefer to top. In my experience, topping slows down stretching/vertical growth more then fimming does.

Oh I’m not risking it on my 1g plant, ill try it on some other sucker!
Damnit! Saw my perfect opportunity to sabotage!😈😂

Totally kidding! I was using the “medium” stress as not so much a FIM but maybe a pinch and twist? (Is FIM a removal of the top?) I still think I would at least bend it a little : ) thats just me though : )

The old pinch and twist 😂

I believe it’s a semi removal not the whole top, I’ve read somewhere that someone was trying to top and missed and FIM (fuck I missed) was born

Shift work fam haha was dead on here after 3 this morning lol
Heard! Don’t miss NOCs at all! 🧟‍♂️ Might need to make an all nighters thread!😂 though, someone from across the world from wherever you are would be the next day so it wouldn’t be their night?😳🤪

Get some rest man!(if thats a thing!hahah!)✌️

I think with FIMMING it's about timing it right. I FIM strategically to take advantage of stretch. To focus the stretch on the lowest branches so that by the time the top recovers I have an even-ish canopy height and get more uniformly sized colas. Something ike this but on a smaller scale.

Really depends on what I want to accomplish. In this case I FIM right before flip. If I want it super bushy then I FIM the top early so the lower branches can develop enough to FIM also. That, it turn, focuses the growth back up top more. I do pretty much the same if I SCROG but a longer veg time to fill out my screen in that case. If I FIM well then I can get 10-12 leads from a small plant. A lot of that depends on how the top grows. I usually FIMMED and flipped at about 6"-8" tall because the finished plant couldn't exceed 2 ' in height or shit would start to get fried by the lights. I didn't really have a choice but to sort it out and get the most from my tiny space.
