Hardest pill to swallow! You know the situation and what is right vs not so right lol! Really sorry you’re having to drop out but you do what makes you most comfortable and safe! Not sure how savvy you are with electricity, but im sure if you go on the DYI thread you could probably trouble shoot it. Just an idea : ) I completely understand your position and why you made your decision. 🫡❤️✌️

So are you done then for good? Or is this just the one gallon challenge set up? I have a hard time keeping track of everyone’s grows.
Let's call it a pause. Regardless, I need have that outlet looked at by a professional I think. I once read online about a way to convert a 110 outlet into a 220 but my gut said to not do it. I later talked to an actual electrician about it. Good thing I didn’t! I would have burned down the house for real. Now I have a healthy respect for wiring/major electrical stuff. I might be overly cautious but I'm ok with that. LOL So we'll see how it plays out.

changing a circuit to 220V is A LOT more difficult than just replacing the outlet.

I think when dealing with electricity being overly cautious is OK : ) I was going to back feed my dryer plug with my generator and NOT ONE THING on the internet had anything good to say about it lol! I opted to just run some extension cords to the fridge and tv hahaha!

If you have your current equipment 110 outlet and another 110 circuit that's not being used then changing to 220 is fairly simple. Those 2 circuits become 1.
Your equipment would need to be able to handle 220 though.
Are you sure you just don't need more amperage?
Is the outlet on it's own circuit and doesn't branch off/share wiring with other outlets or lights?
Are you running 14 gauge wire and a 15 amp outlet?
If so, what is all your equipment wattage/amperage added together running off the issue outlet?
Breakers can only handle 80% of their limit. 16 amps for 20 amp circuit, 12 amps for 15 amp circuit.
If you're within 80%, you have to much running on that 1 outlet.
Upgrading the wiring to 12 gauge and 20 amp outlet could solve the issue.
Your service has to be able to handle it also, if you only have 200 amp service, running 250 amps isn't going to work (total house amperage).
You can have a 300 amp breaker box but only 200 amps coming in from the power company.

I've also seen on numerous occasions people with 20 amp outlets on 14 gauge (15 amp wiring) on a 20 amp or 15 amp breaker.
They think because the outlet is 20 amps that they can plug 20 amps in it while the wiring is only meant for 15 amp, even if the breaker was 20 amp the wiring is to small.
15 amp breaker would at least trip, the 20 amp may not.

I've also seen 15 amp outlets on 12 gauge and 20 amp circuits/Breakers that people plug 20 amps into and melt the 15 amp outlet.

Always make sure components match.

Spoken like a someone who knows a thing or two about a thing or two. Are you an electrician or just knowledgeable in that department?

I'm actually a technician for vehicles, boats, atvs, tractors, and anything with a gas, diesel, or electric engine.
I do side jobs all the time of pretty much anything.
I know a thing or two because I absolutely refuse to pay someone to do something I know I'm capable of doing.
Research is all it takes.

Every utility (gas, electrical, sewage, water) has been replaced by me, including the underground lines that hook to the service providers lines.

I rewired my own house and my grow equipment has it's own personal little breaker box.
High powered equipment each have their own circuit/breaker, smaller equipment may share a circuit but I don't exceed 50% of breaker/circuit rating.

My Snap-On multimeter is actually my favorite tool 🔧

@Newty Thanks brother but that's all greek to me. It's not a subject that I've ever explored nor been forced to learn about. But I'm well aware of the potential danger. Enough to make me think twice.

However,....good news. Outlet issue resolved for now. Apparently there is a fuse box outside of all places. I've removed some equipment as much as possible. It's up and running but I'm gonna have quite a bit of wasted space and limited in how many plants I can grow. But like grandma used to say, it sure beats a stick in the eye. I've actually had a stick in the eye and it almost blinded me. I wouldn't recommend it. Lol

Thanks everyone for having my back! You guys rock! 😎

Lotsa browning fans and falling off real light but hanging in and stinking up the joint well se how she does but she’s dense and stinky and main colas are indecent shape i think she’ll pull to the snd and do enough to show off

Nah that looks way better than mine dude. Mine appears to have symptoms of over watering. I've cut back on volume and I know she's dry when I do water but I think soil temp is an issue. Humidity is running low in the upper 30s despite 95+% outside. Right now she looks over watered but is bone dry.

I wonder if the low rh is fooling me with how the leaves look. Ambient temp has gotten as high as 80 and pot still feels on the cold side and that's after adding seedling mats to warm it up. I think microbial activity is probably slower and she is slow to drink/eat so even less water results in an over watering effect on the plant maybe. It still takes a long time to dry. iDK Being neglected while in trim jail for weeks probably didn't help matters. Lol

Could be a number of challenging factors involved. But this IS supposed to be a challenge, after all. It has definitely been one so far. Lol

If your ambient gets up to 80 and you're using an HPS, the leaf temps are probably a bit higher and it may be too much. May need to check light distance from plant surface.

Yep it's an hps. It's mounted at ceiling level about 2.5'-3' above the canopy. After I dialed back the wattage 25% she's been sitting at about 72°-75° and rh has gone up a bit. I may need to add a small humidifier or an active air intake. Trying to avoid the latter because temps will be steadily dropping soon. I fertigated this morning and the leaves still look the same as when she was dry. And they feel like crepe paper which makes me think it's definitely an rh problem. If I place my hand above the canopy it feels cool. I have a fan moving air above it so that's helping. When I did tent grows before (15 yrs ago) my problem was always high rh so this is new to me. I think if I get my vpd in check things would improve significantly. She hasn't looked too happy for awhile. This was a challenging strain outdoors and even more so now it seems. I still have 8-10 weeks to get it dialed in.

Tell your slum lord to upgrade that box. It's not that expensive, i had it done when i bought my little place upgraded the whole place to 220. It's so very important now with all the fancy electronics folks have. It's a great upgrade value also. If i was a renter no way would i rent a place with older wires.

@Galgrows
He's not a slum lord. Lol Our place is pretty nice actually. And he drops off the occasional big ass box of food from Whole Foods as a "thank you". We have a whole duck in the freezer right now, for example. Lots of meats, artisan cheeses, artisan breads, produce, desserts. We often give some away, it's so much. The outlet is fine, it turns out btw. I'm sure I could ask for an upgrade. He checks in with us regularly to see if all is well or we need anything. He's a pretty cool guy.

For the sad emojis about me ending my challenge after not getting a reverse on my 3 bears og×mango smile. Yes i hate it didn't work although I will dry and hope I get one seed in there somewhere don't worry the top I took at day 15 rooted and might get a half oz or so and the rest of the photo tent is looking good.
