250w Hps Vs 3 125 W Cfl Which Will Make More Heat

wondering if any one can tell me weather switching from my 3 125w cfls which aren't that cool... to a 250 hps would be an increase in heat or not, i can get a cool tube but just wondered if i could do without I'm sure yields would be better. its small cupboard but have a 4inch extractor..

I think you would be fine as long as you are exchanging the air in the cabinet with fresh cool air, the issue I would think you would have is the light distance to the canopy. How far away will the light be from the plants? With hps you want to keep the light 12 to 18 inches away, with cfl you can get them a few inches away from the plant.

I'm quite good at the old scrog and was thinking of doing that with a few plants fill the screen up quick and flip them over..i haven't got a lot of height.. with a low enough screen i might do it... there only going to be in 3 l pots,, to keep it low as they can go. i suppose the proof is in the pudding as they say... i might give it a bash.. thanks doc.
