2x2 RDWC #4: Test with Bag Seed

Small update on the mobile RDWC units. Got 2 buckets connected for a leak test. Everything is solid! No leaks and the water level remains constant with the water pump recirculating. Wish I took a video of the test, oh well. It will get its true test soon...

I will be reusing these 90 degree bulkheads for monitoring water level. Rotated to go vertically, of course. No more sticking a ruler in the reservoir for me!

I love being able to reuse parts. I hate wasting anything.

Did another leak test so I can get a video this time. Noticed a small leak at the union fittings. Didn't notice it last test so I suspect I accidentally loosened it when I took it apart after the test. Will get everything super tight before testing again.

Got about 11 gallons in there for the test. I can go to 12, but that will put too much water in the net pot. When roots are larger I will mostly be running 10 gallons.

I am able to use the pump to drain the water. Wish I had more space between the buckets for another valve to prevent water going into the other bucket when trying to drain. Maybe I will add one inside... Or just deal with it draining slower.

Still need to drill one last hole for the air tubing. This will connect to 2 air stones. 950 gph air pump split between 5 units will supply 190 gph per 10-12 gallon reservoir. I will be keeping the air pump hanging from the ceiling and run the hosing along the back wall down to each unit. I will leave extra tubing coiled up behind each unit so I have a bit of slack when moving/rotating the unit.

Decided to stop using frozen water bottles to keep water temp down. Temperature stabilized at just under 77f. I can deal with that for now. Only a few more weeks until all plants are harvested anyways. All plants will be harvested before November.

I plan to harvest plant 1 this Sunday, October 5th. This would be 1 week after my originally scheduled harvest date. Plant 2 will most likely be harvested Sunday, October 12th. Plant 3 on the 12th or 19th and plant 4 on the 19th or 26th.

I'm now thinking it will be best to wait for the recent increase in temp to drop back down before harvesting plant 1. October 7th is the current prediction for cooler temps.

Picked up an oz of Morning Dew from the dispensary today. Needed something to hold me over until I start to harvest and dry. It smokes great and gives a good high with a few hits.

It says popcorn, but look at the size of the nugs.

The ones on the right are popcorn. 🤣

Got my drying tent all ready to go. I just need to add an exhaust fan controlled by the hygrometer to maintain a constant humidity level. New exhaust fan will be here tomorrow.

Gotta catch all the strains! 😁

Middle 3 sections are good for further drying buds after the initial hang dry. Top and bottom will have too much airflow so I will probably just use those sections for long-term storage. Plan to move the drying rack to its own tent after my 12/12 plant finishes. Then this will be 2 tents dedicated for hang dry. If I have 5 large plants finish at the same time I will need all that space.

Duct fans at top and bottom to constantly circulate air between the two tents. Top blows to the right and bottom to the left. This will create some nice scattered airflow moving through the middle of each tent. Right side with downward flow and left side with upward flow.

Inkbird thermometer and hygrometer. Will most likely swap out with a Govee Thermo-Hygrometer and use their smart outlet to control the exhaust. That way I can track the VPD.

Back intake vent of the right tent is open. This vent does not let light in since the tent is in a corner, but air will still be able to replace any air exhausted.

The two vents between the tents are also open to allow for even more air exchange between the tents. I want to keep both tents at the same temperature and humidity.

Checking out the trichome pics for plant 2 and I can already see trichomes starting to go amber. Current harvest day is set for the 12th, but could need it sooner. Plant 3 and 4 look to be at the same maturity and both seem to be on track for harvest on the 19th.

Flowering week 12 day 2:

Also a few starting to turn gold.

Plant 2 looks on track to be at least partially harvested on the 12th. Plant 3 and 4 both need more time, but can possibly be ready by the 19th.
