This will be my first attempt at Bubble Hash using an 8-set of 5 gallon bubble bags. The medium I have prepared to use is A mid-grade outdoor bud. The smell is very piney/spicey, dense and compact nuggets loaded with crystals when they are cracked open. It is thoroughly dry, although has a slight bit of moisture still in it; just enough, if you ask me.
Due to the density of the buds, I have committed to the laborious process of breaking down all of the nuggets. Because grinders seem to be counterproductive in retrieving those intact beautiful trichomes, I will be continuing to use medical grade scalpels to separate the calyxs from the stems. By breaking down these buds, I am predicting that the increased surface area of the calyxs will allow me to extract more of the desirable crystals. As they are all handled very gently, I suspect that many of the trich's will stay intact and whole throughout the water separation.
Now for a new kick: my current plan for the water separation is to use 50% cold water, 25% ice and 25% dry ice (solid CO2). I figure that the dry ice will allow me to reach temperatures cold enough to make those trich's brittle as hell, and thus have a generous yield.
This is thread will detail the process throughout, as I went through. I will try to post as many pictures as I can, although I don't really have access to a decent camera so I can't promise they will be the highest quality pictures.
