Wow, I just typed up a 1000 word essay edit to something I had just posted, and 'time expired' so it deleted it all. Ggrrrrrrr!!! Give me drafts/alt-z/auto-saves please if you're going to implement this!

Use Google Chrome, it will save your typed text. You will only lose the text if you have the bad luck to submit a post during the daily maintenance, which is more or less around this time. Otherwise, if you are logged you should never be kicked out.
Which brings me to this question: Does anyone gets logged out of the forum while on their computer? Personally, I don't. Once I'm logged, I stay logged forever. This might be a style bug, so please let us know.

Use ms word or free version of same, It points out spelling AND grammar mistakes.
That being said, I feel your pain on 30 mins. Maybe extend a hair?
