Hola,
I am in need of a software program that would allow me to change color values in a photo. Say I had a pic of a tapestry and I wanted to change all the red in that photo to green without painting or other time consuming methods. Say a command to change the color value of 003 to 008 and hit enter. Thanks JK

Photoshop. If you need to hire someone cheap use freelancer.com You can get some good cheap work from people over sees. I have had a 2 year business relationship with someone I found on there. So much cheaper than an American Company too.

I was under the impression I would have to paint over the area I want to change. What I want to change is some color in some weaving to get some ideas going. Some of my work has over 500 spots that I would need to change on one piece. I will get a copy of photoshop to check it out. Thanks JK

As with any media, it's only as good as it's source. If you can, shoot the photos in RAW format, as it will give you a lot more control in post-processing.

Well this is what I call amazing timing(eric is spilling wine on a mexican radio Right now) I came over here while I am downloading adobe photoshop 11 a free version. I always forget to check out the smokers lounge. Then I ran into this. Sometime coincidences don't seem coincidences.
I just received about 40 pieces of material that I want to separate so I might order 200 huaraches from Michoacan. I was just planning on using the program so I could use the crop option to separate the colors. I would like to use it after seeing that to help ordering color combos(just 2 colors per huaraches). I am planning driving down the coast to sell them and surf. Love mixing business with pleasure. I went up to Ca. and all the surf shops loved them but they wanted me to come by every 2 weeks to resupply. I just do not see me returning except for large orders of custom tank work. These huaraches are so unusual I do not think the other huaracherias will be competing against me. I have 2 other photos that includes the color swatches.
I just checked out the download 6 more hours. I have a feeling this will be a long learning curve, but I am always needing this type of service.
I really appreciate you taking the time out to show me that. Listening to old animals I guess it passed pleasantly.I was surprised you went from mr.waters to rap(I try to like all music just never was able to wrap my head around that. I would rather listen to the fat lady sing) Family here really likes the subject you used.
Again Thanks JK

those are sweet jk. 'i've got a few takers for some in this house.
nah, i can't get my head around most rap either. i'll listen to the big rap albums when they're released, just so i know it. but i never find myself going back. i think i went from dark side to daft punk. they're french electronic, some of which i can listen to more frequently.

the painting i used is by a great mexican painter by the name of octavio ocampo. ; )

what i did was really quite simple in ps. go to select:color range. use the eye dropper in the dialog box to select the color that you to change. then use the "fuzziness" slide in that same box to fine adjust the range of your selection. click "ok."
then go directly to image:adjustments:hue/saturation. slide the "hue" around until you like the result.
always work only on a copy of your original ("save as") so that if/when you mess it up so badly that you want to start over, you easily can.
have fun.
