400w hps vs 500w cfl

hi just a quick question so if anyone wants to pitch in feel free lol
whats the best 2 x 250w cfl bulbs 1 blue 1 red for daul spectrum affect or
1x 400w hps the only benefit from avin the cfl setup is i can get the bulbs right on the plants so max penatration but would the hps still penatrate as much being higher of the plants

The HPS will drastically outperform the CFL's up to ~12 - 18" away from the canopy.

CFL's are okay for seedlings/clones/early veg, but that's really about it.

400 watt HPS will give you better results...although if you hung a few CFLs all around the plant...you could have interesting results..check out a book called 8 oz for less then a $100...

to late bro already nearly spent on 2 cfls lol il just end up throwing the hps in if they dont look as good as normal thankx for the advice bro
