Me to bro! But in the last 72hrs they got each 2.5 liters.

It's mostly on the smaller ladies

Take a deep breath and keep doing what you're doing, plants look good. Keep an eye on the yellow tips, sometimes it just the young leaves before their chlorophyll is developed. Give them a week before you make a move and you'll have a more informed decision.

Worry about learning the best watering practice for the specific medium you're in and the food you're using. Let the plant and the light do the work after that.

New day new update,

I think they have a bit too much light ? Some leaf points are curling and getting lighter in color.
I put my light 2cm higher. Total distance is now 42cm.
I was not sure about watering today and was not home when the light came on, so i'm gonna do the water till runoff tomorrow. What could is expect on the water usage? So i can make enough water with nutrients.
What are your pots sitting on?

Thnx guys!!
I'm always insecure about everything.

My pots just sit on the floor. I don't have a drip tray. under the tent i have some insulation because conrete floor.

Thnx for your input!

I'd really like to try topping. But maybe in the smaller tent later.

I'm going to water until runoff when the light comes on today. And then I'll switch to 12/12 tomorrow? So today is last day veg feeding when watering then ?
But can I remove 4 or 6 leaves per plant today?

Save the money on the sensors!

Im a very visual learning person so I made a diagram to explain my watering philosophy so that maybe it's easier to understand.

The plants roots look like a mirror image of what's above ground until the confines of the pot take over. At your current stage of growth it looks something like what I drew below. The most important thing to remember is that the growing tip of the root is another apical meristem just like the top of the plant. It's loaded with stem cells and hormones and is the "boss" of the root zone.

The dotted line represents the 2 inch deep mark and the wavy line on the bottom is where your excess water will settle. If the root meristem is constantly sitting in a wet, low oxygen zone, it will rot and die, effectively topping your roots and stunting the plant because there's not enough roots to drink it away.

Without factoring in the weight, it's possible the top 2 inches are dry but the tip is drowning in a small layer at the bottom of the pot. The top layer has the highest concentration of roots at this stage. That, combined with evaporation from the atmosphere is going to dry it out faster, but your roots need O² as much as they need water.

The arrows are to illustrate why we water in a ring around the edge and never against the stem. You want the roots to expand into new areas chasing that water. The deeper you go, the less roots will be on the sides of the container.

I'm late to the party, but question:
What about clones? They don't have a tap root.

To me its only sensible to take leaf indoors. Indoor growing is not natural and I cant provide sun intensity levels in my tents sooooo somethings gotta budge..lol

I remove leaf from damn near seedling to mid flower.

My approach is. Lift a leaf and look under it. If I see a bud site that leaf goes. Another thing is i want to see the medium through the top of the plant. My goal is to open up bud sites and increase air flow to the plant.

I use leaf removal early and to me it makes a huge difference coaxing out branching for big colas at harvest and many of them.

I stress plants pretty hard during their brief life. To me leaf removal is important and beneficial. I also look at it as a training method.

An example of early leaf removal and bending. This plant is 2wks in flower and im still taking leaf when needed. Ive managed to coax out many bud sites. Im excited to see how she ends.

Okay, they looked a bit dry again!
But i gave them water untill runoff just now. They took about 3 liter each.
Ph from runoff was good at 6.4, but EC seems to high at 2.6. Wat you guys think ?

Okay thnx Gmonster714, i'll give them a bit time, so i can smoke some, and then i'll cut some leaves.

Pic is just after light on and before watering.

Edit, Spider farmer, this is getting expensive, please sponsor me!! 🤣

Clones behave like they were topped, where there is no main tap root. They're called adventitious roots if you want to do a deep dive on google. So remove the long tap root from my drawing and put about 20% more shallow root mass at the top of the pot.

I left this out of my explanation because the OP is dealing with seeds, but that's a great shout out. Young clones definitely need a different watering practice than seedlings, they are much less tolerant to dry backs.

I feel your pain! So far, I've bought the 2 bucket 7-gallon DWC kit, GGS controller and sensor kit, the AC10 power strip, the SE4500 light, the SF1000 light, and I'll be receiving my Glow30 side lights tomorrow by courier. That's just the Spider Farmer gear! Then, there's the Vivosun aerostream H05 humidifier and the AC Infinity Thermoforge T3 heater. The SF1000 just sits there, btw, as it was underpowered for my grow tent and while I planned on looking into a 2x2 tent for it, I've been "informed" that there's no space for it.

Now I'm looking at a taller tent, the 28x55x80" instead of my current 24x48x60" tent. Pretty sure the girlfriend is going to kick my ass to the curb if I do that in the next couple of weeks. Had to mollify her by choosing to stick with distilled water over the RO system for the duration of this grow as it is. Apparently $0.50/day in distilled water is okay, $150 for an RO system and float valve isn't.

Cheers,

BA.

Good morning. 2.6 EC is high for the current growth stage. Should be more like 1.4-1.6 right now, but if you have EC in your tap you should factor that in to the final number. I was looking at a shot from a couple days and it looked like it was starting a phosphorus shift (roots got cold or medium too wet maybe) but I'm not seeing it in today's photos. Just get that EC in a good range. If it's been that high and taking it like a beast, disregard.

Night temp is around 19/20 celcius, daytime around 24/25
The small room is a bit difficult to keep at the right temp and humidity for the tent. Still trying.

Okay, i cut some leafs, i hope i didn't do to much..
