4x8 veg room 800 or 1200watts MH?

will I notice a big difference if I run two 400w MH lights in my 4x8 veg room instead of two 600w mh ? Thanks!

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuk yeah...fuk yeah,fuk yeah. hid over floro all day. if youre runnin 2x1k for flower, u should only need 1 1k for veg n that should be overkill(i use 1 to veg for 4 in flower, but i dont use light movers or sog, n im not sure on youre setup so...). BIG leaves, lots of sites, fast growth. if its in a different room it should be on a different breaker and no prob(unless everythings on, youre watching tv while running the dishwasher and making microwave popcorn and vacuming). if its in the same room... youre prob gonna need a lighting controler on its own breaker. alot of people dont realize the amperage(amps) rated on your ballasts n fans are for startup, they use significantly less once running:bongsmi:

4k is nothing for a 3bdrm house. You probably have 200amp service. You can run 2k for flower and 2x600 for veg plus fans etc., no problem (assuming you are on multiple breakers). But you probably don't need to. 400x2 for veg is fine. I use 600s but that's just because I already had the ballasts and didn't want to invest in additional ones. Otherwise I would be running 400s for veg.

Why would you say that? 2x600 has a larger footprint than 1x1000. And 2x1k is massive overkill for vegging plants, especially babies/preteens which will be stunted/stressed from that much light if you don't have them far enough away to be wasting a massive amount of lumens. Remember he's talking veg.

This would work great too. In fact probably better than 2x400/600mh for veg. A lot of people are converting to t5 for their entire veg.

Consider an adjustable ballast maybe. They have ones that go from 400-600 and also ones that do 400-600-1k. Good investments. But remember, you'll need separate bulbs still.

i miss read, i was thinkn it was a bud room. get ah mag. ballast and sunpulse 600wbulbs (2)w/spliter and get 1200w two bulbs for 1000w.
