Morning, folks.

Normally I'd just post the latest pictures in my grow diary (see link in signature) as part of my bi-weekly updates. But I'm just curious what everyone's opinion is, as this is my first attempt at doing a hydroponic grow. Godfather OG in a DWC bucket system. Today marks day 36 since the first pistils emerged. The difference between growing the same strain last year in Promix HP and this year in a full hydro setup boggles my mind, truth be told. So I guess my question is this: did I just get really lucky with this grow, or is this typical of a smoothly operated hydroponic set up for being 5 weeks into flowering?

I've take pics from several different angles and taken a short video clip (hope it uploaded correctly... .mp4 format and never done a video upload before).

First, the video attempt:

Here's a couple of general overall shots of her:

5 weeks into flower how is she looking 7

5 weeks into flower how is she looking 4

Here's some shots of some of the bud sites in more detail:

5 weeks into flower how is she looking 5

5 weeks into flower how is she looking 6

5 weeks into flower how is she looking 8

5 weeks into flower how is she looking 9

And finally here's a few closeups of some of the bigger buds:

5 weeks into flower how is she looking

5 weeks into flower how is she looking 2

5 weeks into flower how is she looking 3

Thoughts? Opinions? Criticisms? Singing the glory of the ages in my praise? (well, we can skip that last one...lol) I'd love to hear from you all.

Cheers,

BA.

Hi, looks good, what is your feed? you maybe a bit heavy in nitrogen, you might want to cut back a bit as I see a few too many single leaves too high up into your bud structure and it looks like they are still extending I start tapering off week 3-4 as I bump up P&K

Hi, and thanks for the reply.

I'm feeding her the GH Flora Trio nutrient line at about half strength. I ran into an issue almost 2 weeks ago where my level dropped dangerously low. Not completely dry, but down to about 4" of solution. My EC went quite high at that point. Did a res change and brought it all back in line, but that was the cause of the nasty clawing on the upper leaves. For the last 2 weeks I've cut the Flora Grow by half and bumped up the Bloom by a bit to keep me at around 1.4-1.6 EC. I also use Silica Blast when I do a res change (about every 10 days) and CaliMagic along with the nutes when I do any top ups.

Another issue at the same time was I thought the stretch was over, and then it grew another 4" or so. That brought me a little too close to my SE4500 light, so when I did the res change I also raised the light and brought the dimmer up a bit to maintain the same PPFD (in general) as before, roughly 850-900 at the canopy tops.

Any suggestions you have that can help me get through the last 5 weeks or so is greatly appreciated. Since it's my first hydro attempt, I've been leaning heavily on advice here for guidance.

Cheers,

BA.

I'm a GH user as well, long long time I have a graph I use as a guide to flowering nutes. I use a balanced feed with the trio, in ml/gallon I start around 3 weeks of age with a 2/2/2 as they grow weekly I increase 3/3/3 -4/4/4 -5/5/5 at flip and up to week 2 ...6/6/7 week 3, 4/4/8 - week 5, 3/3 8.

I also add by my graphs guide Cal/mag starting weeks 2-3 feeding 5/ml/gal starting first 5/4/4/8......... I'm also using Koolbloom liquid from weeks 2 in flower - week 6 in flower then I switch to Koolbloom dry. I also use Diamond nectyar in flower at 4ml/gal or Flurolicious Plus at 1/ml/ gal in veg so with those numbers in week 4 of flower I'm at 5/3/3/8/5/4.

Thanks for that, GG. I appreciate it. I'll be using this as a reference from this point on to help tailor my feed solution.

Cheers,

BA.
