If you are bound and determined to stick with that flower light these things work pretty good for veg! They’re cheap! Pull a lot of power! Maybe you could use them in conjunction with the flower light! I use them to get my plants going indoors in the spring! Just a thought!

Just saw your post! Good idea! Make life easy for yourself!

i happen to own a ppfd reader. i dont know if those will be the 600 ppfd im looking. yea fortunately i can afford to get any lamp. as far as using the lamp for flowering goes i guess its a 6 out of your 12/12 or less per day sort of a thing and not wanting to be changing out the light like theyre saying.

I’m all for returning it! Getting something a little more suitable and well-rounded! The lights I posted were kind of a Hail Mary! L O L! But they do veg Well!

We've all made great recommendations, everything from supplement lighting to different full spectrum fixtures that don't break the bank but either the OP doesn't understand what we are trying to say or we don't understand what the OP is trying to say 🤷‍♂️

We all keep trying to help but the cycle continues.
I hate to leave a thread but I'm starting to feel a little sick going round and round about it.

I hear you! No more suggestions From me! But I am curious to see how his Gro goes! Whatever he decides!
I wasn't saying not to give anymore suggestions, sorry if I came off the wrong way!
I'm curious how this grow goes myself!

Basically we have broke it down to 3 options
1. Return light and get full spectrum
2. Supplement with different type (CFL, Florescent, etc)
3. Get a full spectrum and keep the red for when flowering comes to supplement.

I seen the OP mention they have a ppfd meter and want to make sure they can achieve 600 ppfd.
Your plants will do better under 300 ppfd of full spectrum/more natural light then 600 ppfd of red light, especially in veg.

Some of the best growers have never used a ppfd meter, nothing can replace reading the plants.

i always thought it meant something like "peter puffin fag doers" just saying.... damn i make myself laugh sometimes, i sure hope nobody around takes me seriously

thanks for your input and for giving me all your attentnion hope the next thread is one that catches your attention. i already have one in mind about my fertalizer i will likely get the same critisizm. i know i cut corners. just depends if its not a matter of cutting corners but it being impossible with what i have. im going to be returning the light you guys sorry i have not been clear on it.

And just repot that plant and bury the length of stem it stretched,
It hasn’t hardened off yet,
It’ll fix it good as new.
Return that light.
Rock spectacles necks time.
👊🏻🤡

I've gone down this rabbit hole as far as I'm going. Adios!

The hiccup I see is that they claim it is to be used in conjunction with natural light! Like it is specifically made for greenhouses! Will be interesting if you keep it!
Yes Totally interesting.

LED industry has come a long long way.
It is true that Nutes, Light and Medium are three essential concerns, from what i read.
So they say Dial it in.
Dude has a dependable augment I read.
I start under LED and move under HPS and Corn Cobs.
It's, as they say, a waste of grow-energy-money because of the heat loss with the bulbs but, in winter, warm sun is a garden to me. Love to put on the shades and just go in and get warm.
Anyway whoever Dude is, if it's a loss hey.. We have all spent a lot of money on grow stuff. I couldn't even give up a dollar amount I have spent at Home dE Pot over the years let alone the fans and stuff I will never use I bought just three years ago. Lot's of 4 inch stuff and a huge Co2 Tank. All unused.
Anyway I am not in business so hey, I buy stuff.
I think we all have too much stuff.
So what is that light used for? Augment? Not a bad idea if in Green House if you ask me.

I completely overlooked the price tag 😧

My Spider Farmer SE4500 (430w model) cost me with sale and discount code, like $300.

2 Vivosun VS4000 (400w each) were $500 total

AC Infinity Ionframe EVO3 with promo, $250
hey newty how many leds are on that spider farmer se4500. its between that and the mars hydro which has 765 i think

just curious, why would you care how many diodes? they are both highly rated, excellent lights.

if it were me i believe i would just roll with the less expensive of the 2 -peace-

its the one on this site sure i thought so but was gonna say that your actually right because the cheaper one was mars hydro and it is a lot higher in blue spectrum with equivalent red but really between the two other being se4500 one is deeper in blue and less light one is lighter in blue more light so really hard to speculate which one is better. if you have more diodes then your running less heat to produce the light. i just dont have the money for a spectrometer there 1500 bucks sorry cant tell you if the chart is accurate on those

My SE4500 has 1484 diodes, mine is the older 430 watt model with 4 light bars though. LM301B diodes

The new model SE4500 is 320 watts with 945 diodes and has 3 light bars now instead of 4. LM301H EVO diodes.

The customer service for Spider Farmer is far better, Mars Hydro actually got banned on this forum.

im definately going with the volt grow storm 4 one question: the manual says 15cm away from wall and it should be a two and a half inches. is that too close to a wall for a 100 degree led

15 cm is 6 inches so the light needs to be at least 6 inches away from any combustible material, such as a wall. The light is 45" x 24" so you would need a grow space of at least 57"×36" to be at 6" clearance from walls on all sides.
