8 days since germinating, 5 days since planted, and only 2/6 seeds sprouted... What do?

On the 24th we put 6 seeds in a shotglass.

On the 28th we put 6 seeds in 5 gallons of soil.

It's now the 1st and only 2 of them have sprouted.

Is it normal for them to take this long? The two that sprouted are speeding along and we haven't seen the other 4 pop up.

It's bothering me considering the cost and time put into it already. On top of that, we did the same exact thing with every seed.

So why can we never get a consistent sprouting?

This is the second day I posted this because the topic kind of went off rails.

I put domes over them all yesterday and woke up to them being 85RH 92F in the domes and I'm thinking that's too hot. It was also dry under there so... should I just continue misting the top layer every day and pray?

What is your water source for soaking and germination?
How deep did you plant them?
Were they cracked or have a tap root before planting?
What is water temp?
What is the temp of the area you're germinating in?
Are you using any light sources?

How I Germinate:
I use bottled spring water for germination and seedling stages, I don't use filtered tap until veg.
I put bottled spring water in shot glass
Let water in shot glass warm up with a seedling mat or something.
Place seeds in shot glass
Wait 14-16 hours
I then have a spray bottle that I also keep warm bottled spring water in
I fold a paper towel into a triangle and spray both sides
I place it on a Tupperware lid
Place seeds on paper towel
Fold another paper towel in triangle and spray both sides
Place paper towel on top of seeds, make sure air can still flow
Mist when needed with bottled spring water
Keep them dark and warm

Once they crack and have a tap root I plant in lightly moist soil in solo cups with tap root down.
I then put them in a grow cabinet with the light on to keep then warm, the soil keeps the seeds in the dark.
I use a spray bottle to mist the soil, helps prevent over watering.

Some soak the seeds in peroxide and water mix, I've not tried this but considering for next grow.

1. Tap water with around 7ph.
2. Half a thumb deep, maybe less.
3. Yes they were cracked and all had taproots showing. We placed the taproot side down when planting them.
4. Water temp is cooler. The water tank is stored in a 50-60F room so it's about that.
5. The tent we're germinating in is 80F. Also about 80RH.
6. Yes, we have a light meter and have the light at 5000 lux.

Keep misting to keep the medium moist....

Seed in water/peroxide 6/1 ratio, 12 to 24 hrs, then into solocup, regardless it being an auto or fem or reg....let it root....transplant into the next or final container....domes are for clones....keep the medium moist not soaked.....give them at least a week....

I like to keep things super simple

I soak a seed in a shot glass for 12-24 hours
It’s city water,,, most city water is good for growing alkaline wise

Then into the dirt ✌️
