9k coco ebb and grow Journal. DeathStar!

Hello Farmers,
Just wanted to share my grow with you guys and maybe get some critique from the more experience farmers on here.
Room Specs
-Room is roughly 19'x13'
-Sealed
-Co2
-Currently running 6k but have 9k worth of ballast.
-Still have not fully decided how to lay out my room because of all the hype of going vertical. So I decided to try out both.
-5 ton a/c
-Day Temps is 80'
-Night Temps is 70'
-Humidity is set to 55% and dropped to 30% 2 weeks prior to harvest.

Nutes
-House and Garden Line up-Aqua Flakes, Roots excelurator, Bud XL and Cal Mag
-Medium- 60/40 Coco/Chunky Perlite mix in Smart Pots which are placed in the Ebb and Grow System.

I over thought my layout and wanted to try both Vertical and Horizontal lighting before making a final decision of the best way to utilize my space.
I hate to call out names :blush But I'm hoping Jack or TK would happen to stop by and shoot me some advice.

I have 4 large adjust wings w/ 1k butted up against each other.
Do you guys think its too much to close to each other or can you ever have too much light? I just figured the more wattage=more harvest.

These are a few that I am hand feeding. I placed my girls around 2-1k vertical bulbs and they are 3 weeks away from harvest. Strains are DeathStar and Albert Walker.

Close ups of the DS. They are super resiny. I'm using my crappy camera so pics don't really do them justice.

In the Ebb and Grow With the Horizontal Lighting I have a mix of DS, Chemdog D and more AW. This is there first week into flower and they're growing pretty quick. I put them in at about 14".

Thanks Shady. I once read that the flash from a camera can shock the plants when taking photos during light out. You guys think there is any truth to that? I'd shit myself if I ever found my plants hermie due to camera flash stress :confused0054:

As far as the Albert Walker lineage, I don't exactly know. But I do know that it smokes really good and harvests really nice size colas. I heard its the same stuff in the Skywalker OG and Fat Albert. Other than that, I know it's one of those old hippie strains that's been around and no one really knows the exact lineage.

I take all my flash money shots within the first 30 min of lights out and have done so almost on once a week for 2 yrs... So far it has not been an issue, but doing so later in the dark cycle could be a problem... :thinking

You can turn the lights off during the "LIGHTS ON" period for a few minutes to take pictures, just don't mess with the timer, physically unplug the lights, so they stay on the same schedule....

... or, do what I do, and turn the white balance on your camera all the way down, so the photos look realy dark, and then use the flash... it tales a nice picture, without the orange hps glow....

Here's an example..... didn't turn off any lights......

hey edub,i recently hit jack up asking about the awings(1000w) and he recommends butting them up against each other or at least thats what he does..

Thanks for the input guys. I saw pictures of jacks horizontal coco room and I really like that set up but also like the vertical setup just for the low plant count. If I did horizontal, I would put 2 rows of 4 adjust a wings, with 2 rows of 9 plants under 1 row of lights. So a total of 36 plants with 8k of lights. I'll update later tonight with pix.

Here are some pics of the DeathStar Flowers and also the canopy of my horizontal crop. The leaves are a little crispy on the DS's but still looking good regardless. I'm going to start flushing with PH'd clearex on Monday.
So a few more questions on room setup. I spent the weekend re-reading jacks undercurrent threads and I'm really close to pulling the trigger. What do you guys think? I feel like I should take a poll.
-Stay with coco Horizontal lighting
-Stay with coco Veritcal lighting
-UC with Horizontal
-UC with Vertical

Any opinions and suggestions would be appreciated. Also have another question. If I got larger coco pots and vegged for almost 2 months, Do you think I could obtain the same kind of yield as an under current system? It seems to me that the benefit of the UC is the accelerated growth during veg.

Bad ass bud shots brah! I think the UC vs coco poll is a tough one... I vote to run half the room with UC and the other half in coco... Always better to test both first hand and see what you like best... :cool
