Just an FYI, sorry for being off topic a bit. But someone did mention lumen loss in one of the above posts.

I just finished a run. I put brand new hortilux 1000 HPS in three fixtures, and the other half, brand new Maxlume 1000 HPS.

I can see absolutely no difference at any point during grow.

Now I know that Hortilux says that they can maintain a certain output for more hours than other manufacturers, but at the price I got the Maxlume and since I don't have a quantum meter or a meter that measures PAR output, I would rather just replace my bulbs every run.

I totally forgot about this thread and just now realized about posting in here about my deal with the Maxlumes.

I should clarify a few things. I ended up helping a friend out who lost some equipment unexpectedly. I ended up with 7 fixtures, three Radiant 8s and three Xtrasun 8s and one is a non-hinged xtrasun 6". I ending up using all 1ooos. Used three Maxlumes, and three Hortilux, and one old Ushio I had. I had the plants in 3 gallon smart pots. That was a pain in the ass, had to water almost everyday for most of the time. I only used Bioweed, Worm/Compost tea, Caps Bennies and some Biomarine a few times. I do have C02.

So, y verdict is, on this very unscientific experiment is that I couldn't tell a difference at all. I should also mention that I have different hoods, but the bulbs were evenly distributed between them. I am harvesting a pretty fair amount also. I am going to hit almost a lb a light. That is from 24 plants and I kept the lights pretty high this time. I cannot believe all the money over the years I have spent on nutrients and additives when I could have just been brewing worm shit and putting thirty dollar bulbs in my hoods....lol

I even was letting them go through over a ten degree temp diff from lights on to lights off. I let the room go from about 79-80 down to 65 at lights off.

I will be ordering a meter now, so I will try not to forget about this thread. Once I get the meter I want to find out how fast the Maxlume will decline.

Just picked up an OG vertical. Currently i run some melon heads in one room and raptors in another. the melons get 600's and the raptor is using 1000's. i plan to use the OG with a 600 over a 3x3 table. i'll post some numbers using my lux meter in a week or two

I'm having trouble figuring how to make the best use of 2 new Blockbuster 6s reflector. I got them to replace my large adjusta wing with 2 600s on a light mover. Table is 3.5x6' (with a fixed medium/600) at the end. I wanted to go with 2 600s to keep the temps down and conserved electricity. But now the light spread is more like 3x3. The BBs have 2 lengthwise areas of concentrated light each side of the bulb. A 1000 bulb is a little better but then I have cooling issues. I hate to lose that extra 1/2 foot on the width. The other thing I can do is move the rack (its on wheels) back and forth and use a light mover.
Did I made a mistake here? I think the BBs concentrate the light in too narrow a pattern. But I usually scrog & don't use a tent so no reflected light for the sides. Or is this a normal light pattern for a reflector this size?
I'm thinking of going for the Magnum xxxl. Will they work with 600s?
