Hey all,

I just wanted to see what kind of concoctions people are using for growing medium.

I have been using black earth and peat moss (70/30) to plant anything I can for years now and it seems like the magic ratio to grow anything (potatoes, tomatoes, celery, lettuce, etc).

Anyone else use peat moss, and dirt?

ProMixHP(mainly peat).......cut with FFOF....My way is a blend of 3/1
Raw Peat can repel water so hydrate well and also can be buffered a bit even....
Ive made my own PMix before....I pref peat over coir as a base....worm castings, perlite....myco....ez....

I cant promote the best here.
Soils work well for me.
Amended soil that only needs another feeding once the roots are established.
One cup compost mix
Easley peasey lemon squeeze
Harvest
Chop up roommate
Reamed
Add wild harvested mycos from bamboo, old hardwoods
Going good so far

popping a round of seeds in Roots vs popping a round of seeds in FFOF was night and day difference.
The FFOF had them all "choked up" and they were reluctant by comparison. Probably doesn't have as much mycorhizae as well.

Also I had a noticeably higher ratio of complete duds planting in OF . Like they didn't like the taste of it and right away just said nope.
I may have ruined whole seedpacks trying to plant them in "hot" FFOF.
