Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows why the CMH bulbs come in 2 types: Horizontal and Vertical. Aren't most bulbs universal? What's the deal with this? I think I will roll a blunt and think on this.

Peace,
HT

Orientation (also Operating Position or Burn Position)
Mercury and High Pressure Sodium lamps may be operated in any burn position and will still maintain their rated performance specifications. Metal Halide and Low Pressure Sodium lamps, however, are optimized for performance in specific burn positions, or may be restricted to certain burn positions for safety reasons.

U = Any, Universal -> Universal burning position

In my case I am using a 400w for veg and flower. In a perfect scenario, I would use my second 400w cmh for flower and do 400w for veg and 800w for flower, but the roommate wants to keep PG&E costs down, so it's a compromise. I'm sprouting seven seeds currently under a T5 (2ft 100w) and will probably do all my vegging under that too. But that means a short veg period after which I will transplant them to smart pots and induce flowering with the single cmh.

Peace,
HT
