Noob grower here. Granddaddy Purple. I'm a very skilled vegetable and flower gardener but my first time growing weed. I didn't use any special soil or lights differently than I use for my vegetable seedlings and all seemed to turn out OK but not great. The plants weren't as full as they could have been. I just wanted to see if I had any skills in growing weed before I started investing into buying equipment. I used a homemade tent and a desk fan. Still things seemed to be fine until I decided it was really nice weather and let my plants sit out on my deck to get some sun during the day alongside my flowers and herbs.

Ugh,! Spider Mites! They made a beeline to my weed plants only. Hubby says he will just have to smoke some mites too because he's not giving up Granddaddy Purple.

Spider mites suck!! Not the end of the world....you could just cut the buds pff and wash them before drying

Spray the young plants down with some Dr Bonners and maybe a little neem oil

Thank you. I did wash as best I could but it was sooo sticky. I just couldn't get all the ones who burrowed. Too late for this batch. Hubby is already smoking mite joints. For next time should I just not ever take the plants outside. They were mite-free until I did that.

Nuke the room before the next grow. Bleach, alcohol, neem. Throw the whole tool box at it. Not on the same day. Let the chemicals off gas and repeat. Treat it like a doctor’s office. Also make sure you aren’t working on your outdoor plants and going in with the same clothing, shoes, and shower if possible.

Wow, now that’s great advice! Hard to do efficiently but awesome corrective action!
