you could grow autos outside then you are not dependant on the 12/12, they will just grow and bud when they feel like it.
thats what i plan to do , its a little early at the moment so i have erected a young plant nursery. hopefully i can get things going april /may, then they should be budding july time.
ive just had an electric bill and Im gonna have to give up indoor growing.

Autos take the work aspect out of it but it's just as easy to put a plant under supplemental dark during the long days as it is to give them supplemental light on the short days. You can do this shit year round, it's really the temperatures that cock block a full run in some locations so you just got to create an artificial season so you can finish them before it's too cold.

Strain choice matters too. Afghan genetics hold up in the cold better because that landrace had to tolerate early freezes on the mountainsides.

Additional pics

It's still throwing a few small hairs so just keep up your routine another week to 10 days. Watch for when no more white hairs are popping out, and they've changed from white to orange or brown, then you can start looking up close for trichome ripeness. Don't do any crazy last minute pushing in an attempt to bump your yield. The plant is winding down its life and needs convalescent care. They don't need to eat heavy because they're not going to grow heavy. This is why we taper off the nutrients because the nutrient demand over a plant's life resembles a bell curve.

I just throw it out there.

I think you might have a light issue.

38 watt is on the low side especially if you have more than one plant. These two other 30 watt LED better be good.
Completely agree. In the same breath I feel the plant is too tall for the enclosure, which I believe has led to some light stress having been too close to the light source.

So ok to water the plant but no feed? Then reassess in 7-10 days?

Would it stress the plant if I brought it out for a couple of hours a day over the next week or so?

Sorry loads of questions .... reading too many articles leaving me a little unsure.

yeah , i grew last winter and had a 5w greehouse heater on for a few hours,it doubled my monthly bill , and i had one outside last summer like you , and it never got to finish bud before the weather turned too cold , shame because it started off as a stunted seedling indoor and i threw it outside and it started growing
also im near the fens so when its windy its reaally windy.
Mother nature ..... can be a little like Marmite. Not really a consolation but she looked gorgeous in the pic.

5 days on...... this is where im at. Do you guys get nervous at harvest time - is it time, should I wait, is it the right window - anxiety levels are jumpy. Haha.

What do you guys think?

I get very unsure LOL. Not quite nervous. But that being unsure can make you do silly things hahaha!

do you have a loupe to see the trichomes up close? anything early will have a less relaxing feel to it.

I feel majority trichomes are cloudy as opposed to clear. Trying to get an image to upload ... tricky holding the loupe, the phone to take the image whilst juggling a little wind swaying the branches simultaneously lol

I didnt think I had.
Did silly things? Oh no i dont think you have either homie! : ) was just trying to calm your nerves and let you know you arent the only one who gets anxiety over this stuff : ) (I’ve done some knee jerky stuff because i was anxious😆)

this is not easy at all! have tossed the loupe aside before after not getting a good look😂 it just takes time to a quire the eyeballs for it : ) ✌️

Its multi tasking.... defo not my forte....

No no bro... youre cool. Im just glad that at one point or still now we've all rode the same wave..... Nice to have that reassurance.

Taking this image is a ball ache.

Arrrrgghhhh

Also I feel some more cloudier than others. Like they're at different stages ....
Definitely a thing! : ) they are filling in and doing their chemical changes and what not. If you can wait until most of them look similar on the further along side thats what i would do. With that that, you are going to want to watch for them to start turning amber. This isnt as cut and dry as it can sound but it’s the rough idea : ) dont hesitate to ask a few times if you want. You arent bugging anyone and it’s not a stupid question!

Don’t go crazy trying to get a pic. You seem to have a grasp on what you are seeing and thats huge at this point. Part of this hobby is one also growing and feeling confident : ) you got this homie! 💪✌️

Cheers buddy.

Gave up with the image attempt but have had a good check all over.... its a mix with tops looking cloudier than the trichomes along the sides...... leading me to think its close but not close enough to harvest.

Will keep a close eye on them now I have a magnifying glass....

Thanks for the help bro @BearWater
