Soil is a commitment. Whether you're buying bags of premixed or making your own, hauling bags of whatever soil or ingredients for soil gets old fast. Then you have to consider disposing soil after a grow and dirtying up your home and cleaning, etc.. I'm too lazy for that. This applies to soilless mediums such as promix as well and is one of the main reasons why i switched. Just throwing that out there for consideration. You have to find a medium that suits your grow style and living situation. It takes some time and experimentation. Good luck on your journey! Growing is just as fun as partaking. You'll be hooked.
Well said @jguit ! Pick the growing medium that fits you. My preference is hydroton. It's one of those love it or hate it mediums but it fits

I like Coco Loco. It's basically subbed out peat moss for coco coir. It's watered like soil and retains moisture slightly better as coco coir retains water more then peat moss.

It's composition is 30 to 40% coco coir, perlite/vermiculite, and forest byproducts, some microbes and some dolomite lime.

it can be amended with FF liquid nutes OR dry organic 444 for veg and maybe a 3-9-5 for flower. Or KIS ORGANIC NUTRIENT pack!!!!!! (FTW)
