Hey folks I’m a noob at growing and for a few shots and giggles with the good weather I’ve decided to pop a seedling, just wondering if anyone could give me advice as to what’s wrong with the wee fucker and what I can do it help it, to me it seems stressed out and is growing pretty funny. FYI the plant is about 2-3 weeks old, it’s never had nutrients been getting rain water and when I decided to water it also getting around 16 hours of light a day with temperatures at a max of 22 degrees so far

Is this only seed you have going?
its on the small side for 3 weeks old. Have you been leaving it outside at night?
it looks like the beginning leaves there are a little stressed or shocked.
my advice would be to transplant with a little spade into a smaller container that you can cover with a big Tupperware or painters bucket liner. I would try to get more heat and humidity to that little guy or gal.

cheers for the reply mate, I thought myself it’s a bit small but we hadn’t been getting much sun for the first week and a half or so of it’s life and it’s been all outdoor. Yes I’ve also been leaving the plant outside over night and I also originally transplanted it from a very young seedling into its current pot so maybe just transplant it back? Thanks very much for the info as well mate

That soil looks suspiciously like coco, it’s a potting mix, right?
Welcome to the farm, btw.

Thanks for the welcome mate much appreciated, it’s just some bog standard soil I picked up at a local supermarket during the pandemic haven’t been able to get to a grow shop as of yet

Not a bad soil mix to start with. if you are concerned about it holding too much water you can add some sand into the mix it will allow the soil to percolate more.
I personally use a mix of soils 3 parts coco husk for filler, 1 part Vermi-fire soil, and 1 part coast of Maine. Both the soils are pretty hot with nutrients, so I need the coco to space it out and allow for drainage.
if you don’t want to deal with the contraption of getting a dome over the plant definitely start with brining her in at night. That way it will have more constant temps. Anything below 50F (10C) will stunt growth.

Also yes welcome To the joys of growing and this forum, me without my manners.

I’ll go out on a limb and say that compost is not a seedling soil. Its an additive and where it says it retains moisture, it never dries enough. Sand or perlite might help but that dirt’s too hot and wet for her to survive much longer.

You may still want to add some perlite to your medium. Especially if the new stuff doesn't have any.

Keeping it in the plastic cup dome for a bit of humidity and temperatures at night although I did start bringing the plant inside if it dropped to 11 degrees
