It might not be as cost effective as Agsil, but my question is would it be more bio-available compared to Agsil. Thank you

8.54 plant available Si with Agsil vs 6.28 with Grow-sil. You can also see the neutral ph of 7 is really 4.2.
Basically you are paying more for less plant available Si. Now if you want to use a sustainable source, and that weighs on your decision, then go for it.
Basically Grow-sil is just ash from burnt rice hulls that have been treated with acid.

Don't feel bad. Before I went down the path of getting "woke" on nutrients I ran through a couple of bottles of OSA.
It's PH is very high so it raises the PH of the reservoir. You just adjust it with your PH down and that's it. Agsil is the way to go.I used 2 lb of Agsil and the main thing I didn’t like about it was the ph issues even if I applied it first and brewed it in water first proper (dissolved before in Rez ) . RAW NPK silica seems to work better for me in the dry versions ( I apply only 1/16th teaspoon - 1/8th teaspoon depending on part of life cycle )
If you look at the ratio per gal , raw’s as better and cheaper ( without that issue I mentioned )
The problem with NPK’s “silica” is that it is basically non existent once you mix in to water. Also it says right on the bag that it does not effect dicot plants...cannabis is a dicot. Ph significantly effects how many ppm of silica is available, being the most abundant around 11-12 ph. So if we’re between 5.8-6.8 then there is only a certain amount that is available to the plant regardless of how much of your silica you’re adding to your mix. Nutrients in the mix will also change how that is taken up through your plants. There’s been a lot of research done on silica and how much is actually bioavailable. I called npk raw about their silica putting that on their label and asked them if it would still work with cannabis‘ “does not with dicot” (before buying the product ). The main rep said yes , it was just for labeling reasons ( since this for multi state acceptance ) . Kinda like their fullup can’t say it’s fulvic acid on it. There’s tons of stupid things like that on labels they are not allowed to put on so they have to make it very “ sellable “, on the label. Hints why so many times they can show you a 1 ingredient and say 99% rest and you’ll never know the rest and it’s prolly the most important part of the product for exp agriculture
