Day 37

Never (knowingly) smoked chocolope but a big fan of Chocolate Thai and any Columbian/Mexican Haze. Although the Chocolate Thai from the 90's, when you were lucky enough to find it, was usually laced with opium. Soooo.... it's not as strong as we think. Not without the opium lol. These are the original D-Line seeds aka: Thai Mango Haze. Chocolate Thai x Cannalope Haze. The Cannalope Haze is Haze Brothers x Mexican landrace. No matter the expression, it's gonna be something I can dig.

there is a HUUUUUGE spectrum of the terp profile you haven't seen, smelled, tasted or felt yet. Dank greasy skunky fuel garbage all savory no
donuts or cookies.

AK Bean Brains (AKBB) has preserved a TON of old school genetics and did some breeding with the original cuts of things that are impossible to find now. Dude has a HUGE catalogue of well preserved, old school fire. All my seed packs from him had like 20 seeds each lol. Dude is cool as fuck and for people like me he's a legend and a hero for sharing what he's saved. The Smithsonian of cannabis seeds haha. Shout out to Dave.

The Chocolope, TKNL5Haze and Cat Piss are from him. All 3 so far meeting or exceeding my expectations.

I learned in an interview that Dave AKBB also does dog breeding (bulldogs) so like Neville, he does have an understanding and experience in "real" breeding - "real" for the ignorant people who don't see what we do as legitimate, that is. Dave is certainly an interesting Cat.
And I've often wondered how to get the younger Zoomer smokers to broaden their horizons as far as their pallete and appetite for weed genetics, beyond Gelato Cookie-Z". I've thought of giving them something nice with a super sweet terp profile, maybe some kind of Bubblegum/Cinderella/SSH cross, and tell them it's one of the new ZaZa strains that just came out and is blowing up right now. And only tell them the truth after they're high. Just have to be careful they don't get too high on a strong sativa and accuse me of lacing it
Apparently Toad Venom is supposed to be real gassy acrid funk, hopefully that can be the bridge back to stuff like ECSD.

I grabbed some blue dream beans from a guy who had the cut and he crossed it out to sunset sherb I think, then back crossed twice to the cut…hoping for something close to that awesome original, got em going now outside.

No idea. Guess he misinterpreted something I said.

Tomorrow is day 77 for Sour D. It has a little of that sweet sour chem smell of GG4, but the fuel is there all the way. This is the SD that was in my area the most in the 90s. I plan to chop it Sunday @ 78. I'm really curious to see how it turns out after a slow dry and 6 week cure. I can't express in text how grateful I am to be able to smoke this again. I haven't even been able to find SD bud since it became legal. I missed that distinct, fuel smell. I plan on hooking up my local clone dealer with this under the stipulation that he sells it to the public in his shop....and maybe that I get first dibs on 2 cuttings if they're ever backed up lol.

Smoke Report

Cat Piss: 69 Days (by 63 all cloudy)
1 week off the dry and not cured yet. Smell is sorta like overripe tropical fruit (I read that somewhere but it fits). There are moments where I think it's slightly skunk too... but I'll wait for the cure to see what happens. Smell is fairly strong already. Already starting to smoke real smooth. Taste is there... but too early, I can still taste all the chlorophyll. The high is ... sorta like an indica leaning haze, a little trippy, super focused but without any purpose. Like you could maybe get creative, but just fine chilling here typing hahaha. I'm smoking it now it's awesome feeling. All at ease in the world, at least while cat pissing. I will grow this again for sure. Old School yes.

Pheno A cut at 69 Days.
Trichomes still a lot of clear. A quick dried test bud showed me the high was right where I wanted it so I probably sacrificed some terps for the high. Starting to feel fucked up from the cat piss btw. Getting heavier lol. Anyway Choc. A is an awesome sativa high. It feels like you're in another dimension. The high lasts long and if you keep puffing to kick it back up you stay soaring, doesnt have a come down. Never makes me tired in the slightest. It's not really like a typical sativa high it's not even like a typical haze high. It's like it puts you into a parallel universe, but not racy at all, not really motivating or creative either. It's just like ... "this looks like the same world but I feel like I'm in a parallel universe lol. Not much for terps. Nice slightly sweet/sour like a jolly rancher kinda. No earthy or chocolate notes, no melon either but 2 males I had smelled crazy like 100% ripe cantaloupe. The smoke is not smooth yet. This one is gonna need a good few weeks to cure.

Pheno B currently Day 94
Trichomes still look clear with some cloudy and amber but could be one of those that's hard to tell. There was always just a almost mothball smell the whole time. Zero sweetness which intrigued me. I cut a test bud of this the other day and it blew my mind. There is a Haze my brother used to get in NYC and it was the best shit as far as hazes go. The quick dried test bud of this Chocolope Pheno tasted exactly like that haze we used to smoke from the city. The high was spot on too.Definitely some straight up old school HAZE! Super fucking excited for this, cutting it down tomorrow. I'll report back after a proper dry and cure.

TKNL5Haze

It's da-bomb. Nuff said.

Not much to say I'm getting tired from the cat piss lol. Or just super relaxed I cant tell. TKNL5Haze that I grew out chopped Day 69. Flavorful and smooth right off the dry. Thick super smooth smoke, strong high. If you like GG4 you would like this pheno of TKNL5Haze. It seriously tastes like a pastry dough version of GG#4. The high and potency is very similar but more chill, less diesel-ish of a high. Not sleepy, but you can get in the zone and stay focused. Such a good flavor and high. Old School for sure.

Blue Dream

This is the original Blue Dream I know and love. Blueberry and Cedar. Taste, smokes, smells, feels and is.... incredible. I took a test bud at 62 that was all blueberry flavor and a fantastic sativa high. I harvested the plant at 66. The cedar terps are nice and strong with the blueberry right there with it. Day 62 tasted more like blueberry punch, and now it comes with a strong taste of cedar. Amazing. The high is just what I remember. Starts off with a happy, feel good Haze high that comes with a prefect warm cozy hug feeling. It can melt you right into the couch with relaxation and a permasmile. I am usually a sativa guy, hybrids, diesels, hazes etc. But Blue Dream is in a league of it's own. Smooth flavorful smoke, smells awesome when you open the jar, amazing high... and it's not even cured yet lol. Fuck why is this not in every dispensary as the flagship hybrid?! It's literally the most perfect hybrid. You can distinctly feel the haze and blueberry high separately, but together.

Thanks brother. Yeah I think once these old school cuts start making a come back there's gonna be a sort of renaissance. I'm seeing them becoming more available and the more people that have them the better preserved they are. It seems they are starting to make a come back. GG4 definitely is still available too and a lot of people grow it. I think the days of hoarding clones is over, and will be left to the corporations with their new "exotic" strains. People will get tired of the same Koolaid in every different flavor... and start to crave something different. Corporation weed will be like the McDonalds of weed and old school cuts will be like a 5 star Italian restaurant.
