Not yet, you're still early.

I would check to be sure, but maybe by next weekend. I really didn't see much in the way of amber. Amber is your guide to when the THC is peaking. If its a sativa that doesn't show amber, it will show completely dried and receding pistils. There's still a number of pistils that don't show as done yet.

We looked at both the trichomes and the pistils to help draw that conclusion. Both suggest your plants need another week to enter the harvest window. Don't be shocked either. Those breeder estimates don't hold much weight. Your grow looks very good. Don't get impatient. You'll appreciate the extra wait.

Thanks for this! Ive been mainly watching out for as close to 100% cloudy as I can get. The purple haired one has swelled, but the green/orange buds have not really swollen up yet- then again there are like 20+ main colas.

So you think both plants deserve another week? Not just one?

Loving the pink pistils!!. I agree with others that you should hold out. I’d even say 2 more weeks, possibly more. There are a large number of pistils that haven’t turned or curled in. Good luck!

The colors of the hairs is just on minor indicator of ripeness. Many of the upper kolas get touched often, you, insects, etc., which can make them change color. The trichomes on the buds themselves are a better indicator of harvest time. IMO

It is possible it will be 2 weeks. He needs to check next weekend and we can go from there.

This is what makes me think the purple haired plant is ready to pull now, since I am seeing about 10/80/10 amber/cloudy/clear trichomes on the internal buds. That plant is a bit smaller but it's definitely swollen

No one says you need to harvest the whole plant at once. You can harvest one kola, in a week give it a try. If you like the results, pull the rest!

In your trichome pictures above, I didn't see any amber.

Edit: I double checked. It's early bro. Not yet.

This is my plan for the big one. I just wish it would swell more; here's as close a Pic of the whole thing I can manage

Your harvest window is actually about 14-18 days. Its better to be well within your harvest window than to rush and pick too soon. Let's start there. Next, weather does play into it since you're outdoors. How dry has it been? Do you have any signs of dew on the grass in the morning? All these things do need taken into account. The only amber I see is in the pistil colors. There's none really when looking at your trichomes.

All signs point to good reason to want to harvest. It's a job well done. However, unless mother nature turns sour suddenly, at least another week of growth will be a benefit to your plants. We can do this again next week. If they are ready, great ... if not, it will be not too long afterwards and once you've harvested at the right time, you'll appreciate that you waited.

Is this your first grow? If so,….NICE WORK. Where are you located in general? In 2 weeks you should see a dramatic filling out and a really nice color fade as night get cooler

I am in CO near the mountains, should be sunny and dry the next week. I can be patient, I think.

More detailed conditions: I supplement the soil with blood and bone meal during veg, and top/stress train, but other than that I let nature take care of the rest. I mulch with bark and some gypsum also, which generally keeps everying clean. I think there's some mycelium supplementing my soil as well, at least to a degree.

Last year I did a staggered harvest and came out with a ridiculous amount, but yeah I think I harvested the tops a bit soon. I just worry with it being outside and all.

I’ve done this! Literally took the top half all all my plants! Got them drying and let all the littles underneath that, finish off! Added so much smoke to my yield. great suggestion man!

It could be the right approach, harvesting in 2 sessions but I still don't think any of its quite done yet. @BearWater - take a look at the close-ups and tell us what you think. There's some nice trichome and pistil pics at the opening of the thread.

Im with you RoadKill! : ) if he waits another week those half cloudy trichomes will be full on cloudy and everything else will be that much further along or even more so with less weight time.

I think the step harvest could come into play if OP waits the week and takes al the tops. That stuff underneath could use that extra time and then be something : ) i only bring that up because I’ve watched dudes leave POUNDS worth of smalls and littles on the bottom of plants. They’d take off and id watch all that little Larfy stuff turn to great smokable buds! : )

Heres some more real time pics; purple hair closeup is of one of the bottom buds/popcorn. I do agree i dont see a lot, if any, amber on the other plant.

I was just out looking at mine. It really does take a few grows to see the trichomes well through the loupe and to know what you are looking for : )

One thing so far for me that has been consistent across the plants, is the sugar leaves seem to start the amber a week or so before things really start doing their thing on the buds! So if i see some “brownish dusting” on the sugar leaves i know things are getting close. Then you just gotta get out there daily to look. Take a bud and see if you like smoking that. If not you know to wait a little longer. Now mind you the trichomes will continue to degrade after harvest so if you are at 100% milky you will get into amber at some point during your drying and curring (i dont know specifics on that though, i just know its a thing)
