Oh I'm not...that wee root still needs oxygen right? Overwatered soil has less of that. AKA...the medium is too wet.

It's crazy to think it's even possible to be overwatering with the small amount I'm giving but I know the curling is a sign so that's the main reason I even made the post. Should I just let it dry out for a few days? Then continue as I have? Would you recommend less than 5ml of water or keep giving that? I've got my nutes all I have to do is mix and start them.

Temperature stays at a constant 75-80°, sometimes it gets up to 81 at the hottest part of the day. I'm only watering a total of 5 to 7.5 ml of water around the stem of the plant every time they are dry with the finger test. I did add a bit more soil around the stem as it grew out, I realized I didn't have enough in the beginning so call me a noob lmao. PH of water is 6.19. I know they don't need much water at all, but idk much about growing. I'm not even sure what light I have, I do know it's a mars hydro. I bought my entire setup from a friend of mine, who didn't provide me with much info about the stuff lol. Any help appreciated 🙏 I'll add a picture of the light so maybe yall know what wattage it is.

Water it well BUT then wait for it to go dry. After time you will discover cannabis plants thrive through the drying out stages.

just to add a little bit to the overwatering side of things. something thats not usually conceived of when you hear the word overwater is that its really about or at least as much about oxygen. if it was only about too much water then there would be no such thing as hydroponics. hydroponics gets it oxygen simultaneously with its water but in soil you have to do one at a time and this is why your watering time and your dryback time must be clearly defined.

Leave it a few days. Feel the weight of the cup. When it's noticeably lighter water it again

are you a new grower who doesn't yet know how to properly water? suggesting domes to someone new will often lead to their plant damping off

once someone has experience thats different

This only works in a big pot. (Final pot)

If it's a solocup in a doom, you could easily over water this way.
If I start the seed in a solocup(made of organic material, I water first time when I put the seed in. And only one time more in a week, before transplanting.

no disrespect but just because you can find misinformation online (very easy to do) does not mean you should continue to spread it.

I'm sure we could go back and forth showing one site that says yes and another that says no. I am speaking from experience watching new growers plants damp off and die..

Why are you so stingy with the water? 5 ml = 1 teaspoon. Most of your soil in that cup has probably gone hydrophobic from lack of adequate volumes of water. It needs closer to 4 ounces in that volume.

none taken but I think theres two issues being conflated here. watering and using a humidity dome.
I cant see the harm in using a humidity dome to control a low humidity problem which the guy had. I also stated that using one you should have a hole in the top to allow air exchange and water less often. This is a practice used by many growers despite whether you agree with it or not.
using a humidity dome does not cause over watering. overwatering causes overwatering.
Going by the amount of water he said he was using I didn't think it sounded like he was overwatering but I also said I could be wrong about that. Also saying its ok to do for an experienced grower but not ok for a novice is a cop out. the guys not a moron. giving him all the options and understanding Im sure he can work it out
