So no matter what I do my leaves look like this I’ll give them a good wet and dry cycle and some days I go five days without watering them but recently I feel like I’ve been watering them every 2 to 3 days, but this issue has happened like a week or two before I started this new watering cycle and I pick up the pots and check when they’re dry and it’s like they will be drooping for days I’ll water them. They perk back up and then the next day they start drooping just as bad as they were before I’m honestly stumped what’s going on and I don’t know if I need to just hold off on the watering cause I got a buildup in the bottom that hasn’t dried up all the way or if they just need water every two days. Bottom half Super soil mix with perlite fox farms happy frog as top base with worm castings. 10 gallon pots temps are 76-80 lighs on lights off 68-72 lights on phd water humidity is 63% I’m stumped

Your own description rules out the thing you're worried about.

Overwatered roots don't perk up when you give them more water. They perk up when the pot dries. Yours perks on watering and droops again inside a day. That's a plant drinking everything it can reach, not one drowning.

Two things look like that from above.

One, the canopy has outgrown what the pot holds, and it empties the soil in about a day.

Two, water is running down the side of the rootball instead of soaking into it. Fast runoff, a bottom that stays wet, a dry core where the roots actually are. Super soil that has dried hard once will do this all day. Your buildup in the bottom fits this one.

Tell them apart by weight, not by looks. Lift the pot right before you water and right after. Genuinely light before, heavy after, light again the next day, that's the first one, and you water more, not less. Still heavy before you water while the top is dry and it's drooping, then the water is sitting somewhere the roots aren't, and that's the second.

Then time your runoff. Under 30 seconds and it's going down the wall, not through the soil. Fix that with small pours in stages. Wet it, wait ten minutes, wet it again, until the pot actually gains weight. Or set it in a tub and let it drink from the bottom.
If it's standing in a saucer with water in it, get it off that first.

The crispy stuff down at the base is just shaded out lower growth. Not part of this.

How fast does runoff show up when you water?

I use a long neck water can hold about a gallon of water. Remember how you watered in a circle on the small seedlings at the start? Well i do the same thing with my large plants and i do it slowly yes some will still run out the sides but the soil will accept it better and fall deeper into the root zone on slower pours.

Best of luck👍👍✌️

Here's a hint... I don't have these because I'm recycling them. 🤣 3 pinholes poked on the bottom of each bottle. Place multiple bottles around the soil. You get a slow trickle in so water doesn't just find a channel and take the express elevator to the bottom and give you false runoff; you can get a solid sense of the volume of water you're working with so you can be where you need to be (volume 20% of medium size with 10-20% runoff), and you can work in small precise increments so you can make sure you don't bottom out your EC and land it on the number you were aiming for.

Also worth mentioning, I've put together a triple action surfactant that will also help water behave better in soil. I will have sample bottles ready to send out shortly. Anyone interested in evaluating, DM me and I will reach out when bottles are ready.

OK, so a lot of what you said makes sense in the one I watered is perked back up again and usually when I water it in no matter how slow I always get some runoff like 15 to 20 seconds after our water sometimes less or sometimes immediately

My best advice is to put a saucer under the growbag to catch the runoff, so it can be slowly absorbed by the soil media. As Ninjadogma said - in dry media most of the water runs off before it has time to soak in. The saucer will give it that time. And you might not have to water as frequently either, but it's drinking a lot, so you still might have to keep giving that thirsty girl water.
