I am almost certain I jinx'd myself! Serves me right doesn't it! I was trying to give LUMATEK my attempt at being fair, and you know it, FAILED!

Basically, I turned on my 400 accidentally, so after a few seconds (rather than a full warm up), I shut it off. Now it only flashes and dead! That's it for Hortilux for me, not LUMATEK, the ballast is still cooler than my quantum's without the fan.

Man that sucks cause I know those bulbs aren't cheap.

The next day the bulb again worked and continues to now... I will get an extra to have on hand. Since I have 3 lights, it doesn't kill me if 1 fails...

Any known issues with running the NextGen ballasts? I have those and I think the 2 built in fans are great for keeping them cool.

Thanks

3x120 volt lumatek 1000's. No problems ever since I switched to Ushio bulbs
3x240 volt dual 600s. No problems. I am using Ushio bulbs.

I do keep the ballasts outside of my grow room which has a considerable lower ambient temperature.

No way man, digital ballasts are the only ones worth buying.

I'd rather stick with the old school magnetic one's because i can have it rebuilt in no time vs waiting on a replacement.
