It is really hard to beat T5's with LED's for the price and power usage. You should be able to get 2 or 3 4 tubers for that price range.

How many watts is that? I would want at least 1500w for that area. 2 dimable mh would work great and in budget.

MH run too hot for my needs. I think he would need at least 4 and 6 would be better of the 4 tube fixtures. I want to say the LED T5 replacements run either 44watts or 33 watts per tube. I believe I have seen both.
