Plan is set for Thursday. Be on river early, by 7 am....
Set up camp, quick breakfast, eggs bacon sautéed spinach, fish all day. Sandwiches for lunch,Will bring frozen chicken stew, heat and eat, nice salad, home made bread. Mushrooms for sure.
Nice breakfast Friday morning, fish and float out.
Love to camp and cook. Making pre made meals to bring in along with one gallon of fresh goat milk and cookies.
Spectacular environment can't wait, weather should be nice...
Our tradition for lunch is tuna sandwiches, chips, pickle, goat milk, banana for lunch, scarfed down quick, fat dubie tokes, then back to casting....

Damn lemme check the schedule this week, that sounds awesome. Downside- I have no fly fishing skills. lol.

Can spin fish just can't use artificial bait. Spectacular scenery. Even if I don't catch fish it's so beautiful always a great time.
Still on for Thursday weathers supposed to be nice....

Sounds like a great buzz. Are you going to float down in pontoons are stay with the boat. Way to busy right now with everything starting up outside. Mowing, planting flowers and putting in this year's veggie garden. Got lettuce, spinach, radishes, beats and carrots in Sunday. Will be planting peas and broccoli this weekend. Trying to talk cannarado into a afternoon trip to Deckers but you know how those guys that have a job are.
Have a great trip and don't forget to PUT EM BK.

I thought that's what your nick was/meant, "put 'em back." Kewl.

Aren't flies artificial? I've never fly-fished, but love ocean fishing (WITH Transderm Scopalamine, otherwise I chum the waters for everyone). I've also noticed some of my hens have very unusual feathering, for chickens, to me that is, and have wondered if they'd be good for tying flies.

I've got a small fishing trip planned for the 1st of May, but I can't find mah poles! I'll probably be watching everyone else fish. I can help tie hooks & bait 'em up, and I can roll & smoke & enjoy the sunshine (assuming there is any).

Will mostly fish from bank, beach pontoon fish downstream in desired areas with streamers if that don't work nymph fish back up.
Only about 4 mile float so its best to,stay up river long as possible, lots of water to,fish...

chickenman, if I was there you would have a hard time getting rid of me. As it is, we have finally gotten a solid base of snow and as of this morning, another 16-18" of fluff which only means one thing around here- Sledding Olympics.

PB

if it was cali, id be there, your just a bit to far :(

Awesome trip. Many nice fish 17 inches to 22 inches..
Snapped rod on the 1st fish, always carry a spare.
Nice campsite best fishing just above in riffles.
Even had action on caddis dry...

lol, broke your rod? Have heard of that happening many times. Never happened to me and probably wouldn't to you as well if you went to a lighter leader and tippet. I always rig for the knot or tippet to break before the rod. Doesn't matter your rod has a lifetime guarantee on it anyway. Sounds like some really nice fish, browns or bows?

Awesome trip one of the best. Totally wore out. Wading boots have no insoles and my feet hurt and shoulder and body wore out.
Both rainbows and browns fat fish real nice only a few under 17 inches.
Lamb chops bb qued, corn on cob, sautéed spinach, 5quarts of goat milk. Eggs sausage, rice, fruit, cookies and milk, mans gotta eat...
Huge caddis hatch around 5pm, swarms of bugs, tied on my favorite dry fly called head lite caddis and they were hitting it for awhile, solid 17 incher
Will rest up a little today and plan on another over niter soon.
Thinking I just may homestead up there at that site, at least for summer. Hire a farm hand to do chores, get a few chickens and a dairy goat up there, start a garden, have the wife delivered for conjiical visits, every three days or so, would be awesome..
6 wt legend elete st croix rod 3x Tippett, sometimes rod get cracked and then it breaks, dunno glad I had a spare..
Huge dump coming on no dumpin yesterday better get going...

Fuck sounds like it was an awesome time chickenman I also enjoy flyfishing done some tail water san jaun trips on nm side, would love to make it up to colorado for a trip I hear the conejo is killer fro browns by pagosa springs, one of these days chickenman, the gunnison would be amazing I would of imagined river would have been raging this time of year, glad it sounds like water and fishing was on

Yesterday morning got up had coffee and ate shrooms, awesome fishing on shrooms. It really enhances the experience. Stayed high the whole day, ate a few every few hours. Really brings out the colors and improves sight.
I worship this experience, always something, heard a noise and looked and saw a rockslide, everything is so awesome, totally enjoy every minute...
Can't wait to get back up there, may rest up and hit it again Monday
