I did not know that they sold it for planting ...I've been using the feed store type for chickens

That will probably work as long as you get it in there early enough. When you’re cooking up a couple hundred gallons of soil this is the more cost-effective way to go.A lot of the basic stuff like oyster shell, gypsum, lime, etc. is dirt cheap when purchased in bulk and will last a few years.
