anyone familiar with a sentinel CHHC-4 co2/enviromental controller?

hey everyone,

I needed a co2 controller, seeing that it was like $50.00 more. i went with a environmental/co2 controller. the fuzzy logic works awesome on this controller. and to be honest makes it a whole lot easier to maintain everything,

my question however is on the humidity and temperature settings.i am running a a/c at 75 degrees day and night, humidity at 55 I'm in veg at the moment. i was trying to get technical with the controller. and let it run 75 during the day and 69/70 nighttime. humidity i was going to leave it around the same range. 55 for veg and 63 for flower. This is my first unit i but, so i simply want to know if it is normal for it to be going to around 71 degrees? and humidity goes down to high 40% i read all the instructions and theres nothing about setting a specific temperature and humidity on the controller? is it normal for the controller to run around the desired temp and humidity or do i need to set it up a different way? thanks for going throughout the post. i hope this makes sense to someone. thanks again. i simply want to know if there is a way to get the controller to be perfectly accurate when it comes to temperature and humidity. thanks again

Not possible to be PERFECT... Also if you can pick up a laser thermometer gun it will give you the most accurate degree reading. My controller is always off 2-3 F, despite constant re-calibration.

hello devildog i have two separate ares and i use this controller in both. they are awesome. there is the "dead band" setting which allows you to set both temps and humidity levels so they operate with in like 1 or 2 degrees of the setting in other words it comes from the factory with a variance of like 5 degrees so if you set it to cool at 75 it will come on at 70. same with humidity. i think they do this so it doesn't constantly come on and off due to a small fluctuation in temp-humid. i usually set this up for 2 degrees and 2% for humidity. just a recommendation i run the temp at 80. from what hear on this site and what i have noticed in person it is optimal to run higher humidity during veg around 55-65 and 45-50 for flower. also it seems if you run co2 that 80 temp and higher humid. it allows the plant to use the co2 more effectively. hope this helps!

In my experience running my mini split and sante fe dehuey into my auto pilot master controller (same as sentinel,grow op, blue print etc.) made the compressors cycle way too much and what not and unnecessarily. Plus they just act wierd. And mitsu splits and sante fe's are VERY expensive. Its best , at least for me, to just use the co2 ppm monitor/controller section of the master controller with fuzzy logic turned on (if your running compressed co2 gas) and NOT hook up my dehuey and mini split. Ive told several of my grower friends this and to save a few bucks and just buy the co2 controller and not the master controller. I use the humidistat and thermostats that are built in the appliances themselves to do their own thing. Of course this applies really only if your running a sealed grow room in a controlled environment. Peace!!!!
