Anyone used spent mushroom blocks for soil building?

A friend of mine owns a large mushroom and is trying to find people to take his spent blocks and use for soil building. He donates to local community gardens but I was wondering if anyone has used them for cannabis? He’s trying to become zero waste and wants to find farms to take them for compost.
