Thanx T- im adding some Cal- Mag to my shopping list for todays trip to the grow store.

what application rate do you recommend per Gal/Liter to start out with?

Do you always spray? or only when they are shown signs of needing it?

Thanx again for the good info.

Alias,
I would start with 1-2 ml per gallon. I would use RO for this so I know exactly whats in the foliar. I do the ebb&flow with hydroton in ro. You can check out my diary. I use a shit load of cal-mag in my rez. No need to foliar when I`m pushing that much cal-mag. I use H&G which has no calcium listed,so I add a lot. Sometimes up to 17 mls a gallon. I didn`t just come up with that amount. The plants let me know and they are very happy with 15 mls but thats H&G. I`m also doing a GH rez and I only have to add 3 mls of cal-mag a gallon. I was only adding 1 ml to the gh rez and they did exactly what your last couple pics are doing. I went up to 2.5 ml and the rust spots went away in 3 days.

Coo. Magic green is added to the posible shopping list as well.

Im going with FF nutes now with CoCo based soil, Ive experienced that Cal-Mag defiency in only some strains using FF nutes.

Thanx for the info.

Next grow around I think Im going with Hydroton- Flood and drain using the New Jacks Herb formula.

It just hard for me to leave Coco but for smoother simpler grows im down to change. haha

Hey bro the method I use is simple man. Water management thats it, I water every 3 hrs with an aggressive schedule and have no problems with over watering. I have given them to much ferts before but they tell you right away and its as easy as watering the rez down a bit. They respond to everything fast. Ha I was going to try a 8k coco run until I bought a brick of GH coco and got fucking bugs. I couldn`t believe that shit. I bring nothing new and worked my ass off getting rid of the mites someone gave me. I`m cool on the coco.

but I see some awesome growers using coco. I think hydroton is easier. Alot of my partners don`t like hydroton because of fungus knatts. If the the hydroton is in pots and being flooded than the top of the rocks never gets wet and doesn`t grow algie so no natts. I really like the simplicity of e&f

Exactly what Ive heard from SnowBling regarding the hydroton. Im going to go the net pot route more then likely with flood and drain.

seems easiest.'

How do the yeilds treat you in they Hydroton?

My yields are good bro. I will let you know what the yield is on my current grow. I`m only running 3200 watts and killing it so far. As for the net pots. I wouldn`t go that route but thats me. I would go with a regular pot that drains all the way. If you look at my thread you will see the pot with the net bottoms. I just tried these on the last run and didn`t harvest the grow till last week. So after harvesting I found that the regular pots had much better root system, thicker and heavier root balls. This will be the last time I use those. I think if I had put a coco matt under them like Motherlode does than they would work much better. That would take away from being able to move the pots around.

Your referring to plastic pots that have the whole bottom made for draining not the plastics pots that are sealed with a few holes on the botttom right?

I agree with you 100%. with the smaller size of my grow I need to be able to move the pots around. I dont think the coco matt wouldnt be good for me either.

100% Germ rate

A few Pics of the Secret Recipe Seeds, Busting out some tail.. Lovely.

Germination was complete in LESS that 2 days.

Not to bad for a first attempt.

Thanx for the how to SB.

Question for anyone looking:

Are they ready now to transplant straight into my Coco based meduim? Or should I wait for the tails to get a little bit longer?

Yea I ended up leaving them in the paper towels for a bit longer, still in there as we speak. I was going to germ the beans in the coco but fuck it, no need to fix something that aint broke. The paper towel method is solid.

I havent used the Magic Green but I did use the Nitrozime today looking forward to thicken up the stems. before Hand I transplanted my XJ, SG, CK and PK into my large pots.

Also watered. 6.2 Ph, w 1tsp epsom salt

Next water Im gonna start my FF Veg nutes.. Im thinkin Im going to slightly reduce the application rate and do a Feed--- Feed- Water schedule. Give it a shot..

Does the Magic green simply help the plants leaf skin tissue? Or does it have other benefits?

Looking good so far. Get ready to learn a lot this grow.

Glad you got a ppm meter. Learn to use it everyday! Now you can understand nutrient profiles a little better. You need to know if its .5 or .7 conversion.......

The papertowel method is very solid and old timey!

I didnt use my heating pad for the longest time then put it to good use during the winter and with aiding in seed germination.......

Im really into dirt bags now for flood and drain ebb and grow systems. They have amazing root development. They also retain a lot of moisture and I only water twice during the day cycle.

I take a 185 gph pump and attatch a 8 foot 1/2 black tube, drop that in my reso and use that to hand water the dirt bags top feed style while the reso is flooding until the roots gets developed. then i just flood the table deep.

I stretch panda over my tables and cut slits and drop 9 dirt bags with about 2 gallons of rocks in each onto every 4 by 4 table.....roots will grow through fabric and make a mat. Its kinda crazy......

Ive seen those crazy fucking pics of your rooted matts. That shit looks like roots on steriods. Very white as well.

Dirt bags? Im gonna have to see what this looks like.

Post up some pics for me. and if you remember Post a pic of your Sour Alien that you sent up north..

I need to get a 4x4 flood table. I have a 3x5 now which isnt large enough.

I may be able to fit a 5x5. I think Ill grab that Reso and lid from you as well. Just let me know the figures.

HOw much panda plastics would I need for a 5x5 table? I would need your assistance engineering this little master peice. But you Kno Im trying to give hydro- Jacks and Hydroton a go.

Once I move into a larger space in a few months Id like to run both a Hydro Jacks table and a Coco table.. along with my Veg/clone/rooting/seedling station.

That Germ method is on the money my friend.

Im thinking Im going to Transplant them into the dixie cups tomorrow. how long should the tails be before I transplant? Im also going to start them off with some simple Mycos and water to start building of that food web. See if I can get it thriving from the get go.

and I checked everything on that Meter and everything in the box and manual . I couldnt find a thing saying .5 or .7 conversion.? How would I kno?

Whats the brand of your meter?

You prob need a 4 by 4 table its the standard. Then 6 then 8. 4 by 4 is best for you.

I dont a have a picture of the plant from up north yet. Its huge though.

You just need a 4 by 4 piece of plastic to stretch over the table and clip into place. I dont like any light going through. See my threads.

I feed seedlings right away a 200 ppm solution......they are hungry from birth.

I dont like the tail to be too long with rockwool before I drop the seedlings into the cube. What you are doing is very different. Ill post pictures of the dirt bags, thats the name of the brand, next to some nine inch squares.

Plant your seeds

Once my seeds show a root into the medium they go, much safer than in the paper towel where moisture is iffy. Can get either too moist or too dry too easily in the paper towel. Plant them about 1/8 inch(thats the top of the seed depth) deep with the sprout down and the seed at the top. I'm interested in the "secret recipe" got a pack myself. Good Luck
