I foliar in veg with magic green when things look like they need it.
but I see some awesome growers using coco. I think hydroton is easier. Alot of my partners don`t like hydroton because of fungus knatts. If the the hydroton is in pots and being flooded than the top of the rocks never gets wet and doesn`t grow algie so no natts. I really like the simplicity of e&f
My yields are good bro. I will let you know what the yield is on my current grow. I`m only running 3200 watts and killing it so far. As for the net pots. I wouldn`t go that route but thats me. I would go with a regular pot that drains all the way. If you look at my thread you will see the pot with the net bottoms. I just tried these on the last run and didn`t harvest the grow till last week. So after harvesting I found that the regular pots had much better root system, thicker and heavier root balls. This will be the last time I use those. I think if I had put a coco matt under them like Motherlode does than they would work much better. That would take away from being able to move the pots around.

Looking good so far. Get ready to learn a lot this grow.
Glad you got a ppm meter. Learn to use it everyday! Now you can understand nutrient profiles a little better. You need to know if its .5 or .7 conversion.......
The papertowel method is very solid and old timey!
I didnt use my heating pad for the longest time then put it to good use during the winter and with aiding in seed germination.......
Im really into dirt bags now for flood and drain ebb and grow systems. They have amazing root development. They also retain a lot of moisture and I only water twice during the day cycle.
I take a 185 gph pump and attatch a 8 foot 1/2 black tube, drop that in my reso and use that to hand water the dirt bags top feed style while the reso is flooding until the roots gets developed. then i just flood the table deep.
I stretch panda over my tables and cut slits and drop 9 dirt bags with about 2 gallons of rocks in each onto every 4 by 4 table.....roots will grow through fabric and make a mat. Its kinda crazy......
