Im ready to pull plants (like now, rain is coming) and have aphids everywhere. I did the wash (Captain Jacks) last week and it worked good, but now they’re back with the entire family and spread to all plants! Should I do the wash again then use the 3 bucket dunk? (I need some clarification on that too) I have natural Castile Soap, rubbing alcohol, and Captain Jacks.

Blast the whole plant with a good steady stream from the garden hose to knock as many bugs and their eggs off as you can. Make sure it's not strong enough to damage or destroy trichomes. Follow with a bucket dunk, swirling your branches as you pull them out to prevent bugs from hitching a ride back on as you remove them from the water. I use a single bucket of water with ice cubes but I can for sure appreciate the benefit of a second bucket for a final rinse.

I'd spray the ever loving FK out of 'em!

Jack's should do it. Then in a day or two wash them well but gently in the morning and allow them to completely dry before chopping and hanging.

Been there, done that. I can't tell you how much bud I've grown for aphids, spider mites, slugs, snails, rats & mice, and the worst of all, bud worms. Not only do they eat the flower stems but they fill the flower with their shit which can cause mold but I'm not smoking their shit. I'm drawing a line here🤔

NUKE 'EM! Make sure what you got, Jack's Dead Bug is fresh. Always keep it in the fridge, both the ready to use and the concentrate. That goes for most bacterial type insecticides. They will degrade over time due to temp, light, time, etc.

You need to start a weekly routine of keeping bug numbers in check before they get out of hand. I've had aphids destroy a plant or three. You go to trim and there's no real flowers under the leaves. Ugly.

Neem oil in veg and I've used it in flower. Done right there's no taste.

Jack's. But you don't want to use it more than 3 x's (if I remember correctly) on any plant. I don't recall why but I'm gonna follow the table recommendations😉 Again, neem oil works for me and I can save the last couple weeks with Jack's if needed.

90+% rubbing alcohol 50/50 with water but only in vegg and cover your soil.

Besides the above your visual daily observation should also be detecting the bastards. I read the backs of yellowing leaves. More than a half dozen aphids it's time for one of the above.

You can gently wash them off with the hose and spray head. I've done it with corn but without the insecticide (natural in this case) they just marched right back on and destroyed my hard work.

NUKE 'EM!

This is from a cut that's been soaking in water I didn't spray last night with neem like the rest of the greenhouse

I don't know what strain this is and I'm gonna dump it. Don't need it and there's no roots but plenty of bumps but a perfect example of reading the leaves😉

What exactly is the “bucket dump”? Some say it’s a 50/50 mixture of water and alcohol? Is that rubbing alcohol? Thank you for responding! 😊

I just grab a small trash can, fill it with water, add some ice to make it nice and cold, and then I put all the cut branches in the water for a couple minutes, giving each branch a swirl as I pull it out to keep bugs from hanging on.

There's probably no real concern but I worry about using things like lemon juice and alcohol because cannabis is soluble in oils and alcohols but not water, so I would feel comfortable with adding some h2o2 but thats it. That's just me, and that's the reason. There's plenty of residues that can build up on the plant... dirt/dust, live bugs, dead bugs, their eggs, bug poop, residues of neem, castile, spinosad and BT, etc. and even plain water helps send a lot of it on its way.
