I've got 2 plants almost ready for harvest, and about a month ago I noticed they were infested with aphids. I've treated several times with soapy water and the numbers of aphids has been knocked down by about half, but they're still all over the plants. I'm going to keep treating, but these plants will be beyond ripe in another couple weeks.
So I have 2 questions at this point: 1) is there a better and safe way to eradicate these pests safely for my smoke? Would ladybugs work?
And 2) if I still have pests at harvest time, will they be all in the buds, thus making my shit un-smokable?
Background: 2 seeds from random weed. Must be sativa variety because they're more than 6 months old now.
Started them indoors. Moved outdoors for the summer. Brought back inside to finish off about 45 days ago. In New England.
5 gal pots, promix. Fed them chemical nutes, but now just plain water. .
