There is a local guy selling arrays with epistar cobs.

1152 watts for 350

Do they work ? Two of those could light a 4 x 8 almost.

sounds like 3w or 5w leds. on a panel All is workable, the question is that what you want. Do you want 200w of COB power or 1152 watts of 3/5w leds all in a row. peace

I want COB power. It appears they work better than the older LED style lights. To cover a 4 X 6 room I can run 2 CXP420 lights which are CREE cob lights.

But I also noticed you can buy kits with CREE cobs ready to put in a frame from timber.
How many of those cobs would it take to flower a room that size ?

And some of the COBS are 6 = 300 watts and some are 4 = 300 watts. Does the number of lights matter or the total wattage is the same difference?

2 of the CXP420 will cost me about 1550 and it will cover a 4 x 6 area.

total wattage is kind of same difference but as wattage per cob goes down, efficiency goes up

like for example a cxp uses 62W/cob
timber kits have different options - 50 and 75W per cob
for say 750W, three 5x50 timber kits will be more efficient than 4 cxp 4x62 fixtures which will be more efficient than 4 timber 3x75 kits
