When the seed opens in the paper towel they get lost unless you plant the paper towel as well. In water it's much less because the majority are on the inside of the seed. Direct sowing if the seeds are legit is the best way, followed by soaking in water first, and then the paper towel method. In the end your just hurting the plants ability to begin life optimally. If you just dump salts on then I wouldn't worry about it a ton but if it's in any way an organic amendments grower I highly reccomended no paper towelSo germinating a seed on a paper towel takes these microbes away? Does soaking them in water the whole time wash them away? Would germinating directly in the soil be the only way the microbes stay?
I have 100% germination rate with soaking for 12-16 hours then paper towel, will I see a difference in how my plants grow and/or harvest if I change germination method?
Well you are wrong and you have shown no willingness nor desire to learn so stop interjecting your opinionIn my opinion no.

I'll probably just stick to my soak and paper towels because my plants sprout quick and move to veg quick. I use synthetic nutes or liquid nutes from natural and organic sources about 6 weeks after sprouting. When the seed opens in the paper towel they get lost unless you plant the paper towel as well. i personnally like cotton pad/paper towel it allow me to do a first sorting of how vigorous is the seeds roots growth after 2-4 days, it's not rare there's a few that don't open up and some that open up and that the root won't really grow afterward per large batch of seeds, it's more comfy regarding how i manage my growing space if i remove weak seeds before transplant in final pots, i don't like transplanting ,always have to be very carefull not breaking the soil, it always annoy me when i have to replace a missing spot in the tent with a backup i launch in small cupspaper towel is bro science and needs to go away and be forgotten about,.. these techs were started with illegal marijuana growing,.. like 18/6-12/12,.. like flushing,. like darkness period,.. etc etc
In the end it doesn't make or break your grow and it's all preference. I hate transplanting as well, I go from solo cup to my 7 gallon final pots. I use the solo cup stage as a vetting process as opposed to your paper towel, but I don't run a lot of plants so it makes sense for me. Each method has its merits.i personnally like cotton pad/paper towel it allow me to do a first sorting of how vigorous is the seeds roots growth after 2-4 days, it's not rare there's a few that don't open up and some that open up and that the root won't really grow afterward per large batch of seeds, it's more comfy regarding how i manage my growing space if i remove weak seeds before transplant in final pots, i don't like transplanting ,always have to be very carefull not breaking the soil, it always annoy me when i have to replace a missing spot in the tent with a backup i launch in small cups
i usually have 80% 90% success rate i'd say with germination
Totally agree and honestly plamt science is just starting to take off and as far as cannabis it's in it's infancy. Gotta put the bro science behind us as time moves forward and adapt.paper towel is bro science and needs to go away and be forgotten about,.. these techs were started with illegal marijuana growing,.. like 18/6-12/12,.. like flushing,. like darkness period,.. etc etc

As responsible cultivators we should do a part to limit the amount of misinformation that enters the internet. When the seed opens in the paper towel they get lost unless you plant the paper towel as well. I'm talking about thc content. Or sativa or indica. Or feminized. I'm not knocking them. I just like to know exactly what I'm growing.I've never had any problems with Barney's. They have sales where if you buy two ten packs, you get one free. It's only a few times a year from what I've seen.
Well this original post sure went sideways. The fella just vanished.
Ya know I did a lot of studying since this topic came up. The majority of platforms actually recommend the paper towel method. Just saying. As far as I'm concerned I'm not changing. 100 % germ, and no health issues. Works for me.As responsible cultivators we should do a part to limit the amount of misinformation that enters the internet.
I suggest picking up a copy of a marijuana grow bible to study and learn and keep for future referencing. You will be well on your way to becoming a master grower by following this sound advice. I strongly suggest not skipping this step as it covers everything you need to know for cultivating primo marijuana.
Not for nothing…more than a few people went at him kinda hard.I don't think he believed the 10 or so people that said it was overwatering.
FunnyNot for nothing…more than a few people went at him kinda hard.
Supposed they deserved it though. Cant come in to a group of people, ask what is wrong with what you’re doing, and then argue when you don’t like the answer.
Suppose….if ya don’t want an answer, then don’t ask the question
