I wasn't sure how it was applied, since there are so many different forms it is available in...powders, sprays, concentrates, etc. I was hoping it was systemic, but it looks like it has to be applied via wet or powder application. The mosquito coils work pretty well and pyrethrin's are natural and breaks down quickly...I couldn't find mine from my Canadian fishing trips, where they are burned like incense. 30 years later one sniff will bring back vivid memories!

I was hesitant to “like” this post but amazing pics for identification you have here.

Tip i got somewhere on thc farmer a few years ago reading is to wet a paper towel with isopropyl alcohol and wipe off those bugs and eggs.

I would have a LOT of wiping as I don't scrog my operation...it grows full sized with maybe 2 splits, max per plant. They are about 18" now from the top of the soil and grow like, um, like weeds!
I've used mosquito coils in the past with great results, but I can't find the 2 boxes full of them that I have misplaced. They kill everything. I'm going to try the Jack's dead bug stuff, but it hasn't arrived yet. The Sativa strains seem to be affected more than the Indica's, but that might be because the damn critters came from my buddy who did me a "favor" and cloned, and returned, some old cuttings. He even gave me the bugs for free!

I would use abamectin if I were you. It's not synthetic, it's product of bacterial process, like antibiotic.

If i was you i would use biological control, amblyseius mites. I personaly always advocate for biological control. I had thrips, sprays didnt work for me. I purchased some pirate bugs and amblyseius cucumeris. I didnt bother about humidity, water for them or anything. I just released like 20x of what i need for my tent 1 week before flip. Im in week 8 now and i see no bugs at all. I did not have to do anything, just drop some vermiculate on leaves and top of coco, i hung some sacks on the branches. Thats all my effort, they did the rest with no harm to plants at all. Peace

I've had good results by alternating spinosad and Azamax, both of which are fine in my mind for use on product that I personally smoke. I apply one, then the other, at 3 day intervals. I continue until i see no mites or eggs, then one more of each to be sure. Both work by starving the bugs, so they are not immediate. Azamax is a concentration of the main ingredient in Neem oil, also contains unlisted pyrethins, which degrade within 48 hours. This is the same ingredient as in flea bombs, comes from chrysanthamums. Jacks Dead Bug's primary ingredient is spinosad.

I have never had to treat bugs late in the harvest. I elected not to treat when I got a mild infestation late in the crop last year.

We see these all to often in BC. I'd apply Avid and Forbid 7 days apart, AND in between those I'd burn sulphur for about 6 hrs to really fog them out.. That combo of all 3 should wipe them out completely.

Man I hate those things. They've totally wiped out more than one of my grows.

100%. It's really the main reason I burn once a week, as preventative for not only PM but spider mites. They wont come into a grow that is sulphury. Unless of course... You bring in infected clones.

Jeez, man, those are serious chemicals. The regime I suggested above works, and is much safer to apply, try it out.

I dont have mites, that's just how we deal with it when/if they do show up. Personally I run enough sulphur I never see them (knock on wood). And yeah they are potent insecticides, no doubt. But used early in veg or on moms they're safe as long as you handle them properly and take precautions. I would never apply them to any plant with any less than 3 weeks of veg left. Spinosad has never worked on mites for us, neither has any neem derivative. But ymmv.

I'm still so pissed off that he gave me the damn clones knowing that they "had a few bugs". Sulfur candles work great in a tent, but I would have a fire hazard since it is fairly large. I've used malathion before systemically, and it degrades pretty quickly as well...but stinks. My humidity levels are fairly low, so that has helped to curtail the infestation. I have a couple pyrethrin based flea bombs from past flea issues with cats, that is something to try as it fogs the room well, and degrades very quickly. After the grow is done, I can blast the room to make sure it doesn't come back. The pictures were hard to find them, but my partner hung in until they were snapped. Little bastards...the mites, not helper!

After trying a few less aggressive treatments, including Jack's Dead Bug, I tried a new idea and it worked great. The Jack's didn't seem to have much effect, although I only tried it for a few applications plus systemically. When I saw some webbing last night, I kind of freaked and hit it with another round of Jack's, a mosquito/pyrethin coil in sealed space, and a flea fogger. The Flea fogger seemed to do the trick, as 2 hours later everything looked much better, again confirmed 24 hrs later. I'll probably fog once again before switching, but it worked surprisingly well and degrades quickly. See ya bugs!
